Guys I am not a physician. I follow this forum for about 4 years.I think that that the most important phase for a drag is phase 2.I just don't get it. Phase 2 was completed back in 2019.They should have rushed for a phase 3.Maybe they add new compounds at that phase? Is this why that is taking so damn long for them?

Small pharma doesn't have the money to rush through trials, especially when they're also pursuing many other things. Take a look at Cassiopea with winlevi: FDA approval in 2018, market release in 2021.
This company (PureTech, Follica's parent) is 16 years old and the only thing they have released is Plenity, which is a "weight management" pill.

Honestly, I thought that they would announce something like "we begin phase 3 trial in late 2021"

So sick of this.

Not only did they delay it, but they went back on their "FDA approval in 2020" to now where it's "Phase 3 to be initialized in 2022". They must be laughing in their sleeves at the bald losers who believed they had the slightest intention to release this in 2018, then 2020, then 2022.

i never understood why follica even needs to do these trials, since all they are doing is microneedling. did any other microneedling treatment need to go through fda trials?

I can't imagine they gain joy out of delaying their product forever.

Medicine just takes a lot of time and money to be approved. And for good reason.

Good to know they still intend to move forward.

While its disappointing it makes a lot of sense to delay the trials one more time. They know they need much more than minoxidil + fancy dermastamping to make real money. Follica is having a hard time or being unable (like many others) to find a growth stim superior to minoxidil.

No but they seem to get something out of statements like "released in 2018", "FDA approval in 2020", etc.

If you want to acquire public interest / media attention / investors you have to present your case in a nice way. Saying that you expect to cure hair loss in May 2047 won't typically do it for most people. I don't like it but it is a thing of "don't hate the player, hate the game"

I understand how frustrating it is though. Been here since 2016 and all the hypes of that moment have failed spectacularly, only with new hypes to replace them. I am sure that scientists are progressing each year, but the public didn't receive any benefit from that yet in terms of hair loss products / cures. Yeah it sucks.
