For those who LOVE Propecia...

It's been 6 months now and this POS drug has done nothing for me. Shedding has gone up from baseline and all the hair in my crown area feel so much weaker than before. As I have said before in previous posts I have lost major density. I am REALLY hoping that all the hair I have lost in the last 6 months comes back. Could some kind people who have had success with Propecia or generic finasteride answer my questions?

1) Did you experience increased shedding. How long?

2) Did the shedding ever go down or become minimal (ie less than baseline) or did it stay the same as baseline.

3) Did you hair start to feel stronger - ie you didn't fear running your fingers through your hair again and again.

4) Most importantly how long did all the above take?

my 3 suggestions for you have pictures from b4 u started and now post them, lots of times people think they lost tons of hair and they are shocked to see they actually gained, 2nd 6 months is still defiantly early to see results id give it another 6 months for sure and post pictures and lastly where did you get your finasteride from a respectable pharmacy i see ur on finasteride and not propecia. so if you have not taken pictures do so now and post them and in 6months we can see if finasteride is for you. if not then its up to you if u wana start dutasteride, but dont give up at 6months.

for me im at almost 6 months on quaters of fincar, and first 3 months hair came out less bout month 3-4 my crown thined out i guess because of wekaer hairs get replaced now its better at 5 months closer to 6. everyones hair cycle is different so in next 2 months you might be in for sum huge growth.

Hey Phish, I really hope that it's just my hair cycle is taking longer to adjust to finasteride. Yes, I am taking Propecia and getting it from CVS pharmacy so I know it's legit. I do take pics every 2 weeks and they reveal that my crown has thinned out over the last 6 months. I am not really into posting pics to this website because I know some of my friends post here, plus the internet has a long memory. I am not sure if I should get on dutasteride right away or give it a few more months. Nick and a few other switched after 6-8 months so I am eager to see what their results look like.

hmm i see, well yea like i said then atleast give it 6 more months b4 u throw in the towel because who knows these next 6 months could give tons of regrowth. i kno plenty of sucess stories of finasteride where first 6 months rough then months 6-9 tons of new hair growth thats y im saying hold out a little longer.

i made to month 9 and didnt see significant resultts, so i made th emove to dutasteride

that was a week ago
