i know that theyre mostly all the same ingredients but which do you think works best?

Ive tried:

rogaine liquid and foam, kirkland liquid and foam, primer value liquid, target generic brand liquid, and lipogaine

out of all of these i think the kirkland is best value but certainly not the best combo if money isnt an issue ... some have extra ingredients to supposedly help with absorption, etc

Im asking because recently i had to switch from using kirkland liquid twice daily after 3 + yrs to using kirkland foam during the day and kirkland liquid during the night to stop irritation. i did this because i shed a lot when i went to foam twice daily. however, it worked and im not constantly itchy anymore nor does my scalp have dandruff anymore. however i made the switch 3 months ago and now im starting to shed alot again, im wondering if anyone ever shed from switching to foam?

also has anyone tried the "perfect hair minoxidil" its on ebay and has azelic acid in it. wondering if its any better than lipogaine or rogaine ?

If you're able to use kirkland liquid at night, why not just use twice the amt you're currently using and skip the morning application entirely?

didnt think you can do that ? i thought the max absorption rate was 1ml ? since thats the dosage it says on the bottle, i generally use about 1.5 ml on every application to cover my diffuse thinning. have you had success this way ?

indeed i have! ive been using 4-5ml of the 5% liquid (recently switched from rogaine to kirkland, they seem the same), one application per day, at night, for almost 2 years. i have more hair now than when i started 2 years ago, both at crown and hairline. i dont use finasteride or anything else.

Interesting ... i will definitely try this one day, when you apply the 5 ml since that kinda is a lot for how long do you massage it in ? since i usually apply 1.5 ml should i try with 3 ? or 4 ml ? did you use 5 ml before you started doing that ? and has anyone else tried this with success ? i must say you got my attention with that

Using more than 1ml is slighty better but increase side effects. Did you notice water retention ? Bloated face ??

No side effects.

I apply it by rubbing the nozzle directly on the scalp, the whole process takes like 2 min. I apply it by rubbing the nozzle and then when the syringe is emptied I rub it in a little more, still with the nozzle. From the very beginning I used this amount. Yeah I do think there are probably a good number of people who do it only once a day, at an increased amount. I think using 3 or 4ml would probably be fine... I use something between 4 and 5, applied to crown and all along the hairline. If you tip your head way back when you do the hairline (I actually lie down) then none will drip on your face.

Hmm..I put my Minoxidil on damp scalp 1ml 1x/day all over the top and works fine, and no sides.

VERY INTERESTING, im glad i joined this forum now. i dont think i wouldve ever tried that before ... BTW how much do you guys massage the minoxin for the foam i always massaged untill dry.but the liquid i usually just apply it and slide my fingers threw my scalp once or twice and thats it. i always assumed the propylne glycol made it absorb better, but im not sure if you should still massage for like 2 to 3 mins after ? i feeel like when i massage it i take more hairs out, and i know those hairs couldve been on there way out but still ....

I have never had any sides with minoxidil except scalp irritation that leads to dandruff but alternating with the foam in the morning and liquid
at night fixed that issue, im wondering if i apply twice the amount 1 time a day if itll work better ...

i rub the nozzle over the area a couple of times. thats it. takes a few seconds. i dont use fingers because i think theyll mush the minoxidil into the hair, theyll sop up some of the minoxidil themselves, and also its just not good to get it all over your fingers.

to be quite honest before 2 days ago i didnt even know that was a possible side effect of minoxidil. ive always thought of it to be quite safe

yea i agree i always feel like i get wayy to much on my hands and fingers. Now im wondering if theres any kind of device that you can buy to spread the liquid evenly. il try with the dropper for now see if that helps

Ya, for me it solves the problem entirely. Dont push the bulb on the dropper at all, just rub the tip of it directly on your scalp in the designated areas and it will come out on its own.

lie down and tilt your head back when you apply it and none will be on your forehead. i use my left hand to pin my bangs back and apply it with my right hand. any that drips backward will stop where you are holding your hair down.
