I have been on dutasteride since June both orally and topically. Already my hair as a whole has improved dramatically. I felt my hairline had improved slightly during that time, with rapid improvement everywhere else. Within the past couple weeks it looks as if my hairline has taken a hit. Hopefully its temporary (week hairs fall out, followed by new growth), but it remains to be seen. I am thinking of adding an anti-androgen as many people think that would supplement the hairline well.

Anti-androgens compete with androgens for the AR receptor. They include oleic acid, spironolactone, fluridil, RU58841.

They should not be confused with topical 5ar blockers, like GLA and maybe finasteride or dutasteride some people are trying to use.

none have been shown to work like propecia. they just have been shown to inhibit DHT in hampsters or on women's faces or in bald scalp grafted in mice.

Eucapil is the easiest, but it is also $60 per month and has isopropyl alcohol and the only study on it was done by the people who sell it.

none that I know of. There just have been ones on women for making facial hair smaller. androgens have the opposite effect on other hairs that they have on scalp hairs.

eucapil has its own study, but it was only done by them. increasing the dose of eucapil does not improve hair growth. even spironolactone has a maximum dose above which results do not improve. I thought that meant that all receptors were blocked at that dose, but RU is much stronger than spironolactone, so something else is going on.
