Been sporting a #1 and #2 for about 12-18 months now, and finally have let my hair grow longer than an ince, gelled my hair for the first time and although not shocked a little dissapointed. GP says male pattern baldness and Derm says not male pattern baldness and Serborrehic Dermatitis, not sure really, side thinning is the confusing part I guess.

Looks thin but not sure how thin... using gel isn't really a good idea if you have naturally fine hair anyway. You have young kids who would also look like they are "thinning" by using wet look gel. I would use something with a matte finish.

Does not look like thinning to me. Its the same effect you get with sunlight and wet hair.

does the side of his head look really thinned out to anyone else? weird.

i'd suggest Bedhead Manipulator hair gel - it doesn't dry hard like most gels, good sh*t, kind of expensive.

The side hair isn't usually prone to male pattern baldness, looks like your hair is just naturally fine.

I think the Flash might have made it look worse than it is , but the sides do look quite thin. Use wax /putty/fudge to do the same thing while leaving your hair looking thicker..

Try Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Matte Texture Cream. I've tried virtually every styling product on the market and have come back to this one. It has a great thickening effect and gives your hair a nice matte finish without being dull. It smells good, it's easy to wash out and it's cheap. You really can't beat it.

Thanks for all the responses guys, I might go through a bit of trial and error, or shave the lot off again to save some time..
