generic dutasteride vs. avodart

I've been overpaying for avodart since I began using it ($344 for 3 months). Recently, I've seen someone on this site post the following link:

So let's say you went out and purchased 20 of those 10 capsule packets; that would cost you $200. 20 10 capsule packets would last about 7 months. With such a large disparity in pricing, it is expected that one would be skeptical of the authenticity of the generic dutasteride product. Can anyone please share their experiences with generic dutasteride vs avodart? Also, can someone post the link to a site that offers avodart at a lower price (lower than $344 for a 3 month supply)? Thanks in advance.

I can't comment on the authenticity of generic dutasteride, or its efficacy, as I have only used genuine Avodart and don't have access to the facilities of the firm producing the generic version.

I can, however, suggest http://www.merlonipharma.ch as an alternate source of Avodart. Including shipping to the US, I believe the price will come to 145 Euros for a box of 90 capsules, that's about $200. You can't order the tablets off the website though, you have to e-mail them your request, wait for a reply (normally v. prompt) and then arrange payment.

It's about as cheap as it gets.

I started my first 3 months on Avodart. I then switched to Dutas and I have been on it for 5 months no problem with it. I will then switch to Duprost when the Dutas runs out.

I hope it works for you guys without neg. sides for that price and not yet FDA approved.

Why would you switch from Dutas to Duprost? Do you have more faith in Cipla than Dr. Reddy's?
