I've got an appointment with a dermo on the 24th and I'm a little worried he's not gonna give me the script. I'm definately balding on my crown but it's not totally obvious. Has anyone had trouble with stubborn docs? I know I could by it online but I want to do it the right way with the support of a professional who can monitor my blood etc.

If he doesn't give you the script just find another one, its as simple as that. You might encounter these types of doctors, the best thing to do is to just move on and don't try to convince a stubborn Doctor, its a waste of time.

Are dermatologists generally aware of Proscar as a cheaper alternative? Or do you think he'll only prescribe Propecia?

why do you need to monitor blood levels?

Mainly to keep an eye on your hormone levels...it's not vital, but gives you peace of mind.
