What type of Doctor should I consult in order to get a prescription to Propecia?

Your regular family doctor is fine or you could see a dermatologist.

It just depends on your Doctor. Some will, some won't.

My doctor (GP) blatantly refused to even consider giving me a prescription for Propecia - due to the side effects and the damage long term use could cause to your hormones/body. (.... but he did also admitted that he wasn't too knowledgable on this drug - and that his opinion was based on "common sense.")

If your family doctor won't prescribe if for you, your best best would be to see a dermatologist. If all else fails - buy it off the net. :)

Your Doctor confessed his refusal was based on ignorance? Get another doctor if this one forms a medical position in such an off hand way. I would worry how he would react to a serious health problem given his lax attitude.
