This is a perfect example of how not getting your temple points transplanted if needs be, makes the result look like a toupee because the points and so far receded.

I don't follow exactly but it seems like an important issue so maybe you could flesh it out. The guy in the second pic lost tons of hair in front of the ears which they seem to have ignored and left alone. Many of us might not realize that hair in front of the ears is gone and for transplant purposes, many guys are only thinking they need help up on top and not in front of the ears. How far to bring down the hair line is always tricky. Again, so much easier with only temple hair loss and not in front of the ears or on top. Many people have transitional areas moving down from the crown to the fringe. Such hair is often frizzy and diffused in terms of hair loss and not the greatest for transplant purposes. You want the best male hair possible in the donor area. I think transplants for some guys is like roulette and they just hope for the best, finasteride vel non.

Yes you’re pretty much bang on the money. I’ve seen plenty of clinics just working on the top hairline and leaving the sides.. maybe it takes a higher skill level.

You know what I read. A good donor site for temple points is the lower nape of the back of the head because temple points are a lot thinner naturally. But I think you don't need sharp temples but sufficient ones absolutely.

You cant transplant those hairs, they die off and dont grow back. If you could do that it would be done all the time but it doesnt work, there are zero examples of surgeons doing it without failure.

Really? That's unfortunate. Those hairs would be perfect for those temple points. Honestly. Imagine being full norwood 6 and being able to fix temple points, hairline, and midscalp and not have terrible scars in the back so you can buzz it. That would be a good compromise for those with advanced hair loss. You can have a good frame for your face and keep it .5 guard instead of slick bald. You would look a lot better in pictures and fave to face.

Temple points can be reconstructed, but not NW1 temple points if you are NW4+. But you can improve your framing. But you will need a top tier surgeon with good experience to make the angles perfect because they have to be in the temple points. There is a guy on yt called hairlisciously who had temple point reconstruction and almost all guys who had it shave them short because they have higher density than the hair behind them. But plenty of women had temple point reconstruction and it looks fine when long since hair gains weight as it gets longer so the angle is not as important.

Yes I noticed that with mine, they grow thicker than my native hair behind them, only really noticeable to me.. I shall get them thinned out and spread better next time

Just removing such hair for many XY's is a net gain if thrown into the trash. It's that gritty hair on back of the net that they use the clippers on before blowing you with compressed air. It's inevitably coarse in men, unlike in females and sweaty and dirty which does white shirt collars little good. I see guys with perfect hair cuts who inexplicably leave this hair jutting out above the collar and then it's like gross XY body hair that many men leave and it looks terrible as it increases in length. This is transitional hair and probably useless for transplants for the most part since I hear very little about using the hair on the back of the neck for grafts. People are using other body hair for transplants as well and I can only wonder what such follicles end up looking like.

Haha Rooney would give his left nut for density on top like that
He used to play in DC before Covid. I have not heard much about our inferior, aged-star-laden soccer, yes, soccer, just like rugger, league is up to. Americans, Canadians, Aussies and New Zealanders kept the soccer terms as Great Britain decided to have two forms of football just like the Yanks but Rooney scored a mad goal by himself from the middle of the pitch. LA had another has-been guy known for marrying a female "rock" but really "pop" star who tells him what she really really wants and apparently it's loads of tattoos marring his formerly beautiful body. Used to have great hair back in the day but all Brits fear the grim reaper of baldness with alacrity. Stiff upper lips, notwithstanding.

I've been actually debating on getting temporal point transplants -- I wear a system but I have to style in a way to cover my receding temporal points. Not sure if it's worth it at this time.

True, luckily I still have some temple points though they're weak (even weaker on one side)

Without any temple points, like a straight line on each side, something looks "off"

You should. It will make a massive diff but only certain clinics can perform it correctly.

Yes, I’ve been debating it more recently. Not having temporal points really limits the amount of styles I can do with the system.

Does anyone have recommendations for specialists in North America?
