Guys,

I've heard that insulin resistance, or an excess of insulin in general, is theorized or even proven to mediate, and not just exacerbate male pattern baldness due, in part, to the symptomatic reduction in SHBG which heightens active levels of testosteroene and its metabolites in the blood.

I have had very low SHBG and early onset MBP, even though my testosteone levels are much below normal for my age.

Would Glucophage, a drug that increases insulin sensitivity, thereby lowing insulin, and increasing SHBG, help out?

I *think* that people around here such as Bryan are adamant about keeping insulin low to stave off hairloss.

However, I have read that Glucophage, although not officially, has females with PCOS complaining about male pattern baldness-like hair loss around the temples and such. I've only heard this from one souce.

So, will Glucophage help, or hinder my battle against male pattern baldness?
