I have decided that I will slowly stop using Minoxidil (Spectral DNC). I am on it for about 4 month and I think it did not regrowth anything on my head, except many vellus hair and also it thickened about three hairs (talking about temples). I have experienced at thickening on vertex but my Telogen Effluvium stopped so no

Reasons:
- bloated forehead
some (but very few)
- vein on forehead (right temple) - this happend after some excercise. I did not have this before minoxidil. I have noticed that this have people who are bald but it is probably releated to using minoxidil.
- why we are doing something for our hair? Because we want to best hair look possible. Some lotion in hairs is against this point, so it makes no sence. And it is really unpractical.
- and main reason is that I am simply looking for long term solution, for stopping my hairloss for many years (and I mean not only slowing down). minoxidil is not capable of this - even if it works and you get some hair on temples, Androgenetic Alopecia is still progressing. So it only camouflage Androgenetic Alopecia, you see hairs that are already dead, which is not what I am looking for.

So now I will start. Also I have some itching at temples, so I will see that it could stop after I stop minoxidil. I know about inflammation and about the fact that when you are loosing you can feel some itching, but I did not experienced this before starting minoxidil (even when I developed small temples at first) so there could be little alergy or something. Now hairloss seems halted but itching is there....

Well, Proscar isn´t a "long-term solution" either. It is just a treatment. But I think you may be right about your decision to stop minoxidil. Most positve responders see results very fast, if you don´t get them after 4 months you will probably never do.

Yes, but I believe that with proper diet and tons of supplements (I am not on 30 pills today, jesus:) I cover all aspects of male pattern baldness and thus I would be able to reverse my hair loss. Long-term is about 10+ years more and than I believe that not better treatment, but much more studies will be available and we will know much more than now about male pattern baldness.

minoxidil is "solution" for 2 years max and will give you questionable results...I have not seen pictures of anyone who regrowth teenage density at temples with minoxidil, so it is not worth of that.

I have seen some results, some velus hair, but cost is about 35 USD per month for Spectral and if you compare it to 1/4 of Proscar, it is not so powerful and worth of sides and such mess.
