There's an article on msn today about how to increase your sex appeal if you are a man. It states that most women don't really care about male hair loss, as long as its not a comb-over. Meaning, balding men who shave their heads, or keep it real short are sexy.

As a woman, I completely agree.

Best of luck!

That's like us men saying we admire personality more than beauty. You know its not entirely true.

thanks for saying so.

However, I want to keep my hair more for me than anyone else

I know my gf would probably love me without hair, but I still like the way I look with hair therefore I'll do everything I can to keep it that doesnt jeapordize my health

wow

had no idea i'd get so many responses. glad it was appreciated by some. of course some people will always be superficial, nothing anyone can do about that. but others will remain positive and reap the benefits.

last post-please read

ok, i really should be working rather than posting here. and its not fair because i'm female and all. but i was curious and read some of the posts on men' s general discussion. i understand that losing your hair is difficult even for men. but some of the things i have read are just insane. male pattern baldness has been around for who knows how long. surely its made worse by stress and poor diet, but its largely genetic. someday there'll be a cure. but there's not one now. just a word of advice: surely gaining 35 pounds, losing the ability to have sex and doing dangerous experiments on oneself (estrogen is a powerful compound, just ask the millions of women who were on it for years and now risk all kinds of cancers!!) are worse than going bald. ok, getting an expert's opinion and trying a few things is harmless. but if you can relate to the above side effects: please stop!! no sane person would put themselves through this.

here are some quotes:

"However my erections are my major concern right now than my hairloss.. I was thinking it will get better eventually, but now I dont think it will.. Not even v**** is helping me looks like my life is fucked up..

I am planning to try out a small dose of Arimidex and would like some opinions. Bryan, I know you're against it when coupled with finasteride. because of the infamous study on canines. but what do you think about it very low doses?

Well 23 days on one MG a day knocked my estrogen so low it did not show up in a blood test.It works."

this is crazy guys, please get help!!!!!

no matter what you think women are attracted to, the damage you are doing to your bodies and minds is not worth keeping a few extra hairs!!

please take care, dfg

yeah, that's why you see all these bald guys with extremely attractive girlfriends. on a good note however, i went to a physician today, he asked me what medications i was taking and i told him propecia, he asked what it was, i told him it was for hairloss, then he said "you dont look like your losing your hair, why are you taking it"

even if he was just trying to be nice, it made my day. :)

For me it's a matter of personal confidence first and what others think about me second. When *I* look in the mirror and see through my hair, I just dont feel like myself anymore, and I ask, where did that kid with the curly lock that were so thick that he had an afro go? When I'm around people that definetly affects the way I act. It's so true, on "good" hair days, I'm confident, up beat, and ready to take on the world. On "bad" hair days, I'm ready to crawl back into bed.

These fellows are in the minority. Its incorrect to say that everyone taking Propecia is damaging their body. In fact Propecia/Finasteride is used to prevent prostate cancer, and has been, for nearly 20 years in 5 times the dose.

That said, if you *are* one of these guys who are experiencing such hypersensitive reactions to finasteride, it *is* adviseable that you consider this a decision between your health and your hair. Dragon is right on there.
