Like all of you, I am paying close attention to the various companies working on the next best thing, in hopes of a break through. I am an NW5 going on six and have finally decided to do something about my hairloss (stupid, I know). At my stage no regimen, no matter how long will grow enough hair back for me so I have begun researching hair transplants and I will begin taking finasteride soon to see if I get any sides or not in anticipation of getting a transplant. Here's the question. Lets say I go through with the transplant and I am taking my meds, maintaining well for years after the procedure. Then lets say Follica perfects its microderm abrasion/salve technique and I want to go get it done. Will the follicles that regenerate after the burn become the same hairs that were transplanted or will hairs that grow back be the original DHT non resistant native hairs, essentially wasting all the money I spent on a hair transplant years ago? This question also applies to HM. Will getting a transplant basically rule me out of the type of procedure that ICX is developing? What do you think?

Hmm I would say any treatment that regrew hairs in the non dht resistant area would probably have to be cotinuos (ongoing) because I dont see how you can make dht resistant hairs grow from non dht resistant follicles. Its this simple problem thats probably the reason that a cure for m.p.b has'nt already been created.
As for post hair transplant treatments thats something that I've often wondered about too. Would the trauma caused to the scalp by transplanting render any miracle treatment innafective after all many times a injury to the head that causes a scar will leave the area too damaged to natural regrow hair when it heals. You often see people with small thin bald scars from where they banged their head or something years ago. The answer is very possibly that a hair transplant would severely diminish the chances of a treatment but then again what if a real treatment never comes along anyway?
