Hey! I've recently started the finasteride treatment. I took a pill Saturday, and one today. One thing I noticed today is that my sperm was a bit watery, it was still white, but the consistency wasn't normal. I also noticed that later in the day, I tried masturbating again and I didn't have any sex drive and no wood happened. I must mention that I'm 18 and therefore I have a very high sex drive (aka I fap a lot), but now it's been curbed a bit which isn't necessarily a bad thing (I gotta focus on uni). I also must admit that I was pretty scared of the sides when I started the treatment. Should I try the drug out for some more weeks or should I just outright discontinue it?

2. Not take finasteride, girls won't like you, but you will be healthy.
In both cases, you lose and the sooner you put up with it the better for you.

First week I took it I too noticed watery semen. It subsides after a month I’d say. Stick to it for a few more weeks, if you seriously cannot get an erection once/day then yea drop it.
Again, many will tell you. If you’re thinking about it too much then you’re not going to get an erection lol. Its like taking a exam and thinking you’re going to fail the whole time... you have no space to concentrate. Mind is a powerful thing.

yeah you're right. I just tried fapping again, this time without having the word finasteride in mind and it went well, I'm CALM now, no more panik. sperm was a bit thicker too

I actually agree.. when I see people list that as a side worth stopping for it makes me wonder if they're willing to sacrifice anything whatsoever to save their hair. Some clear c*m for my hair.. that's not the worse deal in the world.

You probably don't even have actual sides and are just freaking yourself out, so I wouldn't worry about side effects. You sound like an anxious person, just the fact that you are beating off multiple times trying to test out if you can tells me that. However, you are 18 so it's tough to say if axing your DHT at such a young age is a good idea long term. I would speak to a doctor.

18 is fairy young. I started at 20, and there were definitely some noticeable DHT caused changes from 18-20.

I agree with what other people are saying. You probably don't even have actual side effects from only two doses and do you really care if your jizz is just slightly more watery than normal?

I talked with my GP... I asked her about finasteride and she told me that everyone is going to have sexual side effects. I told her that I heard that only a small portion of people get them, but she insisted that almost all men get them. So she kinda scared me. She didn't really say anything about me being 18 though. I was scared to start treatment because of my young age, but the FDA approved it for 18 year olds as well so it may be ok? DHT plays a large role only in puberty afaik
i care about semen quality because i might want to have children in the next 15 years, and I'm worried it might affect semen in the long run. I don't care about beard because I personally don't like facial hair that much, it's a thing in some countries.
What happened? Did you really see any long term side effects?

Yea mostly just body hair/facial hair. I’d still consult a doctor at age 18. But if you got the script already, I presume u already did
Well... I did an online consultation, I didn't lie in the form but it wasn't anything personalized so I don't know how much value that has.

Some guys aren't done with puberty until their early twenties, possibly even mid-twenties. Certainly facial hair can develop even into one's thirties, it's all relative.
I started taking it when I was 24, but I was fairly well developed by then, already had a hairy chest, muscles filled out, etc.
Look at your muscular development, have your shoulders broadened out?
