Grapefruit

Its a pretty well known that grapefruit has some biochemicals that actually overrides an enzyme in the intestines that is responsible for the drug uptake.

Most drugs are not completely abosorbed, only a fraction is absorbed and the rest is essentially wasted. So it seems like we should be cutting our proscar smaller and drinking up some grapefruit!

bryan has said that drinking enough grapefruit to equalize it costs as much if not more than just taking more finasteride.

Brian, why do you say that? Theres been plenty of studies showing that grapefruit juice increases absorption, and I don't remember them saying using a ridiculous amount.

Drink the juice, like orange juice with your little blue pill.

except that unless you drink a glass of juice a day anyway, it's just as cost-effective to just take additional finasteride, like 2 mg a day or whatever.

college supposedly eats a grapefruit every day with his dutas.

I didn't actually say that. The point I've tried to make very clear is that NOBODY KNOWS FOR SURE if the amount of finasteride (or dutasteride) that you save by taking it along with grapefruit juice is worth the cost of the juice itself. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

OTOH, we should also keep in mind that the drug-sparing effect of grapefruit juice obviously isn't its only value. There's also the simple value that we get from it just from being a good fruit (vitamin C, bioflavanoids, minerals, etc.). The drug-sparing effect is just the icing on the cake, so I see no reason not to use it for that purpose. After all, some people drink grapefruit juice just for the sake of drinking grapefruit juice!

Personally, I can't stand the taste of grapefruit, but that's just me...

I get the grapefruit juice from concentrate, and just eat it with a spoon. It's kind of like a slushy, cheap, and it tastes pretty good.
