Joseph, did you get rid of your gyno? I've been off finasteride since May and mine will not go away. Please let me know what steps you took. Mine is more a case of puffy nipps. Will anything work (nolvadex)? Thanks.

Yes, I got rid of my gyno enough to as where I feel comfortable. Mine too were puffy nipples, where they became more feminine and pronounced. My nipples also changed color slightly. It happened after a year on finasteride.

And I didn't use any medicine. Although, I hear tamoxifen works really well, as do androgens. I simply decreased my finasteride dosage in half, or .5mg, and did tons of cardio and bench pressing to resolve my problem. Good luck.

Nice read, saving up for a surgery as this probably won't go away anytime soon.
Thank you finastride

Logia, are you saying you have gyno? I'm just wondering if you've tried anything to get rid of it. I thought surgery was a last resort.

Haven't tried anything in particular yet to get rid of it, hoping it eventually will diminish. I'll give it another couple of months.

Yikes, they look like how my left one is heading towards, when I'm bending over and it's "at its worst"

So, now i have to come back here and find out about gyno solutions, possibly including simply quitting the drugs. Shame, cos my hair problems have completely gone.

I know what you're saying. In theory gyno never sounds as bad as it looks. And then, it just kind of sneaks up on you. Playing with hormones sometimes can be like playing with fire... and some people are far more genetically susceptible than others. But I recently started using a WBV platform, and so far it's doing amazing things for my body fat levels, in general.

Anyway, good luck, and keep the faith. :)

Cheers joseph.

However I heard gyno isn't to do with body fat levels, but new tissue in the nipples. For example i have very little body fat.

I must ask, you say in the above thread that you removed your gyno to what you're comfortable with - did you do this with surgery, or some other method?

Don't over react

Guys I am not going to say for a second that you are not experiencing side effects to finasteride as I don't know you. But, just remember that excercise is important in maintaining a toned and healthy body.

For your own benefit, if you feal you are seeing negative side effects, try visiting the gym a few times a week. Do heaps of cardio and weights and you may find that your chest firms up.

If you find that this works than you can enjoys the benefits of finasteride and have a great body at the same time.

Personal priorities are also important. Hair vs a little more body fat. Everyone needs to make this decision for themselves.

I am so sick and tired of people telling me to go to the gym -- it's not going to solve anything -- I run marathons and I still have fatty nipps. The best way I can describe it is... when you have fat anywhere in your body you know it's fat and it's your body -- but this is different -- this feels like it's NOT part of your body -- it should not be there -- and it scares the crap out of me. And I'm still looking for anyone who might be able to help me. f*** my hair at this point.

If you have low body fat and gyno the only thing that will help is surgery to remove the tissue. In essence it's like having small tissue tumours that have to be phsysically removed.

They are not stored fat reserves that your liver can convert back into energy.

had surgey

used propecia for 7-8 yrs, gyne got very bad, quit it and the tenderness went away, but the breasts did not. i had the surgey, was successful but very expensive and time consuming (long time to heal). worth it entirely. now I'm looking for a new hair regimen that wont cause gyne, not finding anything. wahhhh!

dont NOT try it because of this. yes probably am the 1 percent, because i know tons of people who are very successful on propecia, with NO side effects at all. i still suggest it to people, even after what i went through. just if you notice side effects dont ignore them the way i did for years, i side effect starts, quit. but totally try it.

the breast side effect tenderness and increased tissue were very gradual, but I should have been more concerned than i was, i just ignored it all together not knowing it could be from Propecia, i wasnt informed. finally went to dr. cause i was looking BAD, dr. told me it was propecia, stopped immediately, had i known propecia could cause it i would have stopped years ago. you are informed, if you see side effect quit. dont make yourself nuts, most people have zero sides. i had no sexual sides whatsoever. just the breasts.

popozao, you stated that you had surgery for your gyno, I think I'm headed that way to and I'm freaking out! Could you share some surgery info with us? Cost? Where? Recovery time? Scars? Any info would really help me.

Gynecomastia can exhibit itself as either excess tissue & skin and/or fat. Excess tissue is not reversible, and would probably have to be dealt with through surgery. Excess fat is reversible, to an extent, through maintaining a low bodyfat percentage. I was able to almost completely reverse my fat accumulation and change the color and shape of my nipple without surgery. In my case, major amounts of chest work also helped firm up my chest, but only concealed my problem during recovery. Hope this makes things a little more clear.
