Hello,

I just found the forum. I am 29 years old and from Germany. I have been balding for at least 3 years now but I have only been self-aware about it for about 1 1/2.
Judging from how everyone else in my family looks it seems to be genetic (my younger brother is balding similar to me but less advanced and he has a completely different lifestyle). Given this, I can probably only fix this with medication, which I am almost certain I don't wanna do.
A week ago I decided to go for a buzz cut. I was tired of looking into the mirror and spending my time gauging whether my hairline got worse, so I am thinking of just going bald permanently and stop caring about it for good. My problem is that I am not sure if my headshape is great for it. I have kind of a big forehead, a long face and no prominent jaw.
Is there a place in this forum for people who went the way of baldness or is this for treatment/prevention only? Curious about it. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome my friend! I too am German by bloodline and born here in the United States. I naturally have a high forehead, thin eyebrows and slightly fair skin. I've been slowly losing my hair since my early 20's and know exactly what you are going through. You are right to shave it off for now if you are feeling uncomfortable with it thinning. I spent years combing it certain ways and then using hair fibers to mask the problem. Once I shaved my head I was free from it all. Got a birthmark above my ear and thick veins along the side of my scalp too, but I went from feeling like a phony and a social outcast to a new self confident version of myself once I shaved it all off. People even started being honest with me and telling me it actually looked better shaved off. Anyway, I hope you find what you are looking for here on this forum. There is hope without hair and there's also that aspect of being more aerodynamic too LOL. Also, it's very possible a cure is coming soon!

Okay, so let's be perfectly honest! You have a nice head shape with a good jawline. No need to worry. Just start accepting that this will be the norm for you until a real solution is provided. If you feel insecure work on that and not your hair. All the best!
