grey hairs and balding....

Hair loss makes you look older. Finally many here are realizing that youth matters for men... if you have hair loss it will add at least a few years to your appearance, sometimes more. You add in grey hair and you can look WAY older than your age.

The average age grey hairs start appearing is 35 for white men... I got them at 25 and it's getting worse fast, I must have the worst hair genetics around. I see old men with good hairlines and no greys.

I just started getting used to having a sub par hairline... my hairline used to be my best feature but eventually I accepted it was my worst feature and got on with it. I lost a few points in looks but I started a new identity.

Now I have to do start again... I can't deal with grey hair and hair loss at the same time, so I guess I have to dye my hair. Think about it, hair dye, finasteride, minoxidill all for a 25 year old... I see so many my age who are care free, it's sad.

If my hairline was over NW3 I would seriously think about killing myself - luckily it seems stable at the moment, at 2.0-2.5, but I don't have the strength to deal with any more, not with grey hairs now too. I feel sorry for your NW3+ bunch - I say to you to have strength but I don't have your strength.

I love grey hair. For me grey hair and baldness are not even in the same planet when it comes to importance. Men in their 60s with moderate recession and thin vertex and white hair look awesome.

I've never seen a guy in his 20s or 30s with significant grey hair in my entire life.

I've seen men with significant grey hair in early 30s.

Ive had grays since high school

I actually like them. Yes they make you look older, but it also makes you stand out and look balls.

I do not complain about my grays and hoenstly always say if my hair went full on stark white its would be awesome. How cool are Billy Idol and Rick Flair!

This guy looks awesome

Salt and Pepper is fine. I wouldn't mind that when older at all. The dream is full on white thick hair like an old warrior! That guy looks great. My dream hairline too.

not to toot but my hair loss is pretty much that with the hair transplant.

Im advocating it full on if you (not YOU but anyone) can do it. I honestly feel like a completely different person when Im combing now. Its stupid how much it matters.

I even notice some flirtations again when out. There is this young girl at a store I hit every week or so for supplies who is just gorgeous (young, maybe 22 tops with slate grey eyes and a killer body/face) and it took me a few times to actually believe; "hey I think this girl digs me"

I knew a guy in high school who had about 10% gray hairs at 17, but he was a NW1. He didn't look bad to me, kinda cool even. How long have you been on min?

I've never actually seen close ups of your hair bar the overhead pic you once put up. You should start a thread unless I have missed it? Either way, I hear you!

I have the thickness/density to rival that guys hair but my hairline is worse, goes further back around the corners.

I can't say things are much different for me now with girls compared to Norwood 1 at 24. So in that sense, hair transplant won't make an actual difference I believe.

But I still need one and will get one. Opens up more styling options and most importantly, will make me feel better. My pictures are up if you want to see my hairline recession.

OP, I know exactly how you feel. Someone like myself who's been dealing with both male pattern baldness and graying hair since age 16, I know this stuff is tough to deal with. Please try to keep your chin up, I know it's hard and I'm going through the same thing as well.

my entire phaze was posted here

http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interac...n-only-hope-you-made-the-right-choice-in-time

has pics and you can see how bad my front was in this one in particular.

photo+1.JPG

That entire area is filled in. Ill try to get some new pics up (the last page has the improved hair line) but honestly Im afraid. Im happy when I look there and Im afraid taking pics might reveal something I DONT WANT to see.

Actually it looks like the hairs he planted in my crown have thickened as well as I was looking with my mirror up there and it looks much better. Maybe I had a REALLY bad shed/shock loss in the crown after the hairs were planted but it looks much better than before.
Understand I went through a complete failure with my first procedure and he had to do a corrective one. The second is great. I wont say a bad thing about these guys, especially my Doctor. Dr Tan.

Hey Swing, just reading your thread! Sounds like one hell of a journey. Don't be afraid to take pictures, I understand your fear, but as you say, you have improved significantly. Focus on that mate. Also you kind of have similar facial features to me looking at that picture, do you have like any Mediterranean blood in you?

I would LOVE a full head of grey sliver thick hair and no male pattern baldness, If only men's hair just went grey due to genetics instead of a receding hairline that would be great. but no we are dealt with the worst possible kind of hair loss

Instead of complaining all the time, why not do something positive and constructive about it - search the internet and share your results with the rest of us. I know there has been tremendous progress in this area and a few years ago L'Oreal announced a pill for gray hair. Any news on that?

- - - Updated - - -

It seems hydrogen peroxide is the substance responsible for gray hair and catalase can reverse it. Any new info on that?

You're not alone.

I am early 20-s. Tens of grey hair all over sides just noticed.

I curios how it will look when I'll reach NW6 with grey hair on sides of hoarse shoe in a few years. Balding itself adds 10 years to looks multiplied with grey I will look 50-s.

I refuse to live a life destined to me it's someone's joke.

I would trade my blonde NW2.5 for a grey/white NW1 without giving it a second thought, even if the stipulation was that I could never dye it

Could give 2 fucks about the color tbh

Same, it's even trendy to dye your hair grey these days.

I'd take a permenant NW1 with gray hair to get rid of my retarded looking diffuse balding.

also as a sidenote: i've had 3 gray/white hairs on one side of my head since i was like 17, and male pattern baldness hasn't affected those fuckers AT ALL. They're stronger and thicker than any other hair on my head by a longshot. go figure.
