Has anybody heard of or tried GRO hair serum? Sounds like it may be too good to be true, and I notice they use shady language - i.e., it increases *the appearance* of hair density up to 52%, rather than just saying that it increases hair density. But I figured I'd ask.

terrible, never buy it, you should learn soon enough how to spot garbage products.
buy the ordinary multi peptide serum instead, cost 1/5 price and actually useful. Or revivhair serum that cost x2 ordinary. This has been discussed at length already on this forum.

Polysorbate 80 and maybe 60 can be purchased on Amazon. Many find them worthwhile adjuncts in the battle against hair loss and excess sebum accumulation.

Yes there are some good ingredients in this, just there are other products with them and more, and costing 1/5 price.

I wasn't going against what you said at all. I agree thoroughly. Polysorbates are a largely-forgotten treatment that used to be all that we had and they seemed to work great for maintenance. In general, people should flee from products that "throw the kitchen sink" into their products. Plus, I doubt the product in question has enough PS to do anything except stabilize the product if you want to eat it, lol.

Now remember the FDA yanked them off the air but there were two 30 minute infomercials. One for New Generation which was PS60 and another for the Helsinki Forumula which was PS80. These are edible surfactants. They were also used to cleanse murine (mouse or rat) skin during cancer research in Helsinki Finland when one of the lab techs noticed substantial improvement in their coats after radiation, I guess.

The theory at the time was that sebum clogged balding follicles but that theory was disproven which led to the two companies being taken off the air. I used them from 1984 to maybe 1992 mostly but some after. What I think they did was to dissolve hardened and excess sebum since they are sufactants. This eliminated the only food source for Malassazia yeast to a large extent which greatly lessened inflammation and helped maintenance strongly.

So basically scalp yeast live on oils in our scalp and then crap it out all over our heads. We can handle a little of such oxidated by-products but when it is too much from yeast over-runs, dermatitis and baldness can occur. You can still find them on Amazon. Why I don't think they are used much anymore is because they work similarly to Nizoral but they aren't expensive and might be worth checking out for some who can't find Nizoral or get a prescription.

Cool I have some polysorbate in my bathroom. I don’t plan on using it but what you explained makes sense. It is an emulsifier and dissolve oils so....

Good morning

Have you ever tried Nutrafol or know anyone who has used it?
