Get off finasteride, go see a doctor and pray that you dont have to pay $4000 to get man-boobs removed.

How bad is it? In most cases its just fat or water retention at least with me it was. I too developed gyno and it went after stopping finasteride for 2months.

..i dont know how to rate it, but i think its not that bad! i remember i once read that all finasteride side effects go away after discontinuation of medication after just 2 weeks! but 2 month?1!! =0 seems pretty long! anyway, what happened to your hair? did it begin to fall down again? do you use an alternative?

i'd choose moderate gyno over being bald any day

Yah rather than being a hat prisoner, you could be a shirt prisoner! No one wants to see a man with gyno naked.

I had a few sheds but nothing too devastating. I lost a little hair but not as much as you would think. By the way i was on finasteride for 5 and half months. The longer you are on it the longer it takes to get back to normal. I saw improvement in regards to gyno after few weeks after discontinuing use. However it was two month before it almost completelly went that is what i meant to say. I am now using hair signals, emu oil, nizoral and topical finestride with minoxidil. No problems thus far. I am actually seeing a tiny bit of improvement on one temple.

Less systematic absorbtion. The problem with oral dht inhibitors is that it effects dht through out your entire body. One of DHT's roles is to prevent female characteristics from developing (gyno, excess fat on body parts found generally in women etc). Dht has a fundemental role of developing and maintaining masculine characteristics. The only bad thing about it is well hairloss. Since its only dht in the scalp (at the follicles) that is causing the problem i opted for the latter and decided to try topical finestride dosed in minoxidil. Now even topical finestride may give you side effects but they are no where near as severe as taking it orally. You see oral finestride has to work its way through your entire body before it reaches the scalp. This means it may change your body chemestry with undesirable results before it reaches where it is needed (the follicles in the scalp). Another benefit of using it topically is that you can control where you want finestride to work most on your scalp for best results. I've heard using finestride both orally and topically works wonders but the side effects would be too much at least for me.

Oh by the way i came off finasteride for a month before i switched to this new regimen.
