Hi Guys,

Any news on hair cloning procedures or any other "cures" to get us off these damn treatments?!

Would be great to not have to worry about applying minoxidil and then waiting for it to dry.... taking minoxidil etc......

Cheers

ok the timeline of hairloss cures are

ICX-TRC: this was the first attempt of a cure, started around 2006 by a Manchester,UK based biotechnology company it's did well but because the business end of the company was done by a complete retard the company lost value, laid off half their workers and now they are not trialing, they might start up again but it's pretty hopeless, but they did complete phase 2/3

Adreans Research: this is a process simular to TRC but not alike, it started about 2007ish they is little update on ARI but they have started phase 2 a few years ago, no published results but i think they are most able to deliver, they are just have their mouths sealed atm

Follica: this is a strange one where they practically get a cheese grater on your scalp and part of the healing process causes grey hair to grow around damage, i think they are at phase 1, follica is simply an accidental discovery of a wound healing treatment

Histogen:showed brilliant results at phase 1 trial, even though they were only testing that it wouldn't kill you, not that it does work, not technically a cure in that it doesn't stop the new hairs from being lost, they predict (or target) a 2015 release

Tricoscience:a Canadian company that is similar to TRC, they haven't started phase 1 in human trials but they have been working since 2000 with in vitro studies, they are confident that they hold the cure, they have even priced the procedure and said they expect it will give everyone a full head of hair and male pattern baldness will condemed to history

nice summary...maybe we should have a sticky with all the players (ICX, Aderans, Histo, etc) with a brief summary like you've given, with links to relevent threads regarding them, heh or not? :)

anywho, that's about everything you need to know MJ. All I'll add is how you should feel about them all. ;)

You should feel grumpy with ICX, cautiously optimistic about Adreans, worried about Follica for not updating in an age, interested in Histogen and somewhat bemused and uncertain about Tricoscience :hump:

thanks for the up date guys. I can't believe we haven't found a cure for baldness... i guess people think its just not that important....

What happened to hair cloning? i thought they had cracked it.... I remember watching somewhere that they could do it but couldn't get the hair pigment right as the hair grew white? I would be happy with that and just dye my hair black..... Did I dream this?

I think that's pretty correct. People don't see it as that important, because it isn't. There aren't charities and governments pumping money in like they are with malaria, HIV, heart disease, cancer etc, since it really isn't considered to be in the same league. As such, ventures rely almost entirely on private capital (although I believe ICX had some government funding).

So they can't do it yet. There are good hair transplant surgeons out there if you want a treatment today. Otherwise, you're looking at waiting 5 years at least, and most likely 10+.
