Hair dye question (I know people on here use it)

Do any hair dyes dye the scalp as well as the hair, and keep the scalp dyed for several days? Any non-permenant dyes do this? If not hair dyes, anyone know of any dyes that work on skin and look hair colored? That tan stuff is just to orange. It just is not hair color.

I want to dye my hair with something peroxide free that just adds color and is two shades lighter than my hair color so it darkens it only a little, but also makes my scalp darker so the thinning in front is not as noticeable.

I rub faces with my dates a lot, so topic and other powder/pastes just will not cut it.

Non permanents colour scalp very little and is gone after a day. The permanent dyes colour scalp longer, a few days but that will go too.
only the non permanents have no Ammonia in them and some last a long time now like 18-24 washes. The permanents all have Ammonia but hold colour much better.

hope that helps

I use the permanents but that's because i'm very grey. Its the worst being grey early and hairloss. When I was grey with no hirloss it was fine as you can always dye it but now i'm screwed even if I buzz it. Considering shaving so that no hair shows then it won't be grey.

thanks for the info. that saves me time, though it is discoraging. I'm thinking about coloring my scalp with a brown magic marker. I wonder how long that would last. I'm sure it would be bad for my scalp, though, and would color my hair too.

from what I've read, dermmatch is just hair colored boot polish. that may be appealing to a guy who does not get dates and just wants to look good and plans to keep his hair away from her, but my girlfriend and I rub our heads together a lot. I'm just affraid she'll see my thinning soon and be turned off. I think my only defense is to build some really nice muscle and make sure she sees it a lot.

Not a cosmetolgist - (but I do dye my sides w/ "Just 4 Men" ) but I think dying or coloring your scalp is a bad idea. It can't be healthy for your scalp.

LOL.

Maybe try some sunnin or something, that would probably lighten your hair.
