Hair Dyes

Hi, a couple of greys have started appearing and I thought I would take the plunge into the hair dying market before it gets any worse (this is actually completely painless in comparison to losing your hair so I don't see why this subject is such a taboo/personal/stressful issue with some people). Anyway I've never used hair dye before and wondered if anyone could suggest a good product as I don't really know where to start. My hair colour is black so I figured if anything that would be easier to achieve than other hair colours, but perhaps that's the hair dying novice in me talking. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have personally decided to go for 'Herbatint' permanent herbal haircolour gel, it has no ammonia, paraben or resorcinol and contains healthy ingredients such as aloe vera and witch hazel.
