I'm 24 and I've been on finasteride for about three weeks. I noticed today when I was shaving that there are 5-6 new, thick hairs growing wayyy far away from where my beard is on both sides of my face. There is perhaps a centimeter gap between my beard and these hairs. Now, there always was a rogue hair on my cheek, but at this rate I'll look like a werewolf in a few months time. Also, I'm pretty sure I have an ingrown hair that is in a very weird place (about a centimeter under the corner of my eye). I originally thought it was acne, but I noticed that one of these hairs was protruding from it which was pretty disturbing. I was under the impression that facial hair was regulated by DHT, so this is a surprising side effect. Has anyone experienced this before? I have not started to use minoxidil yet. I suppose it's easier to remove hair than to grow it, so maybe I shouldn't be complaining.
