Hair loss at a young age

I know most people on here have said you would care about hair loss at any age, and while I agree that's true I feel it is particularly devasting at my age (18). I'm supposed to be thinking about where to go to college and focus on a career but I can hardly focus on anything because of my hair loss. I'd go as far as to say it's ruining my life. I have no motivation to do anything because of it.

i feel if I could just keep hair until I'm 30 I could be ok with that. I feel I never really got to start living my life either

its very hard not to be self concious every time someone looks at the back of your head. I should probly just get a hair piece soon enough

I guess I'm just venting but I always see people talk about " ways to get through it" but the reality is some people just look ugly without hair and I'm one of those people. I don't know how to accept this.

i don't think that was a good enough picture because it looks worse in different light

i know what I'm heading towards , I just turned 18 this week and my hair is already starting to diffuse. I am going to try finasteride most likley but I'm worried I'm to young

btw you have some pretty entertaining post here , you kinda remind me of that Fred guy

Stop complaining and do something about it. Make sure you f*ckboys dropped your balls first, and then hop on finasteride ASAP.

I agree with Sweeping, you probably should avoid Finasteride because it's not for babies who cry and moan about every difficulty in life. There are millions who start losing even younger than you, I started at 17 and the smart ones seek treatment as soon as it is safe which, luckily for your whiny *** IS 18.

Not sure why you're being hostile if anything Id like advice about it

to farther clarify - I have been to my derm and she said it could mess up my development

not to mention the countless stories online

Yeah I don't think Finasteride is for you mate, even if you do ever grow out from being a baby. If you're gonna believe "countless stories online" then maybe you should stick to the Biotin supplements, or will they cause PFS as well?

hmm, I dont know I would have assumed my questions were valid concerns.

I also thought considering this is a hair loss forum I wouldn't face the same mentality . I suppose my post was a little bit whiny , although I kind of thought that was the purpose of this forum. anyways I dont think continuously telling me how much of a pussy I am for having a health concern makes you less of a "baby" either.

Derms are notorious for being tentative about prescribing Propecia, if any bad **** happens then it reflects badly on them and instead of the drug being for a health situation it is for something purely cosmetic like Male Pattern Baldness, so to them it isn't worth the risk. If you're going to start believing internet scare stories then you're a lost cause, I've known a lot of guys like that and all of them reach the ultimatum at some stage, either take finasteride or go bald. Most eventually choose to take finasteride after years of dabbling in things like RU, Saw Palmetto, etc. A month or so back there was a thread by someone of a similar age to you entitled "Saw Palmetto ruined my life"...and these are the sorts of guys you give validity to.

Yes PFS exists but It's not permanent, over time your body recovers, I see loads of people who quit finasteride from side effects and then claim PFS even though just a few months after quitting they are saying how things are improving. The only people that are suffer permanent sexual dysfunction are those that psychologically fool themselves into thinking it's permanent.
