If hair loss was caused by seb derm would propecia help stop that type of hairloss? From what I have seen seb derm can cause hair loss and basically there is no way to stop it short of trying some shampoos and crap like that. Would propecia be an advisable thing to try to stop it? It says seb derm usually starts in areas where there is lots of oils and sebum which dht has a role in I guess. Are these things all related somehow?

You need to have the male pattern baldness gene in order for seb. derm to cause permanent hairloss. For me finasteride made my seb. derm worse.

I have not seen any connections made between the male pattern baldness genes and seb derm. As far as I know no one yet knows what the male pattern baldness genes all are exactly as its a polygenic trait.

I have not claimed that. All I said is that not everyone who have seb. dermatitis lose their hair permanently. You need to have the male pattern baldness gene for that... for example I have both and I don't think having seb. dermatitis is exactly helping my male pattern baldness.

I have both seb. dermatitis and the balding gene, I'm pretty sure of that.

seb. dermatitis may cause permanent damage if it is severe and untreated for long time.
