Hello everybody!

So today I was on the internet, just watching some videos and I accidentally stumbled on some hair loss videos/topics, and little by little it brought me to this forum.
I will try to keep my story short with a couple of pictures.

So let's start. I've been fat my whole life. Since I was a little kid and basically I didn't do anything about it until I was 20 years old. At the end of the year 2016, I cut out carbs and sugars from my life.

Nov 2016.jpg

So this was me in November 2016 on the first day of starting my weight loss, and that's my hair. For most of my life, I had a head full of hair. My barber always had to thin it out. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture but I didn't like taking pictures at that time and most of my life. I am 20 years old in this picture almost 21.

Oct 2015.jpg

This one was one year before in October 2015. Again sorry for the low quality. Couldn't find anything better.

Sept 2016.jpg

This one was two and a half months into my weight loss in September 2016, already lost around 20kg's/45pounds.
July 2017.jpg

This one is a year later July 2017

may 2018.jpg

And another year later May 2018.

mar 2019.jpg

And this one was in March 2019. Here and a couple of months before I started to notice that my hair was really thin and missing. And I started to feel self-conscious about it. I kept it going for a whole year or a little bit less before I started to shave it out.

And this is me today February 2021, 24 years old almost 25.

I've gone to the doctor after my weight loss and I was alright and I still am and I am keeping the weight off. But I never went to the doctor about my hair. I just thought that's how it had to be.

So I'm just looking for some advice. Is there anything to stop it from progressing further or do you think it's too late for that and I should just keep shaving it off? Looking forward to your answers.

If I forgot to mention something, feel free to ask I will try to answer it as best as I can.

Best regards to everybody!

Just standard male pattern baldness progression, either jump on medication (finasteride and/or minoxidil) and stop it in it's tracks or shave it off.

Your hair looks fine plus remember age correlates with at least some recession.

Thank you for your answers!

Should i go to the doctor for finasteride, and if not where can i get it?

Also what is the dosage i should take? And does finasteride just stops the hair loss and what i have already lost is lost forever or does it also regrow some?

I quickly read about it and it says it stop the hair loss and also can regrow lost? What is your experience?

Once again thank you for your answers!

You could. Or just use Hims. I don’t use it— but it seems super convenient. 1 mg is standard dose. You have to take it to see it’s results. For most people it halts hair growth. Regrowth is a fringe benefit. My the sooner the better— proactive is the name of the game when it comes to hair loss. Much easier to stop it than to get back what you’ve already lost.

Thanks for the quick answer, i dont see why i wouldnt give it a try. Just wished i have tried it earlier.

Jumped on the hims website but they dont ship to Europe. Any chance you know any legit place where i can get it in europe?

If not, thanks anyway!

It would help if you told us which country in Europe you are from, in some European countries finasteride and even dutasteride are OTC medication where as in others they're prescription only.

Croatia. Ive been searching for it and i think its prescription only because i cant find stores selling kt and its much more expensive than it is on hims.

Also in my searching i stumbled upon something called proscar which is a 5mg finasteride pill, much more cheaper beacuse its not labled as such so i should cut it up. But i also think its on prescription only.
So i will need to keep looking.

Great English btw I used to bite Proscar into fourths or fifths since you can't cut them due to the weird shape. It was cheaper and easy although you taste the bitterness more from the uncoated part.

Thank you!

I can't find any credible websites that sell proscar or finasteride, only one sketchy site that asks a lot for the pills than double for the delivery.

So i will try to visit a dermatologist and get him to prescribe me proscar.
I dont know if i could just tell him what i want but i will try.

Once again thanks everybody!

Hey, so i'm still researching about everything and trying to find some sites thst deliver to my country. I checked out some of the sites you provided but the ones from Europe dont deliver to my country.
I was just thinking about using 1mg finasteride, some minoxidil (cream or oil?) and an anti balding shampoo i can get here in my country called "fitoval".

It's not that bad now but i dont want it to get worse. I dont need any spectacular hair but i would just like that when i do short buzz cut I dont have any bald spots.

What do you suggest?

All that sounds good plus try keto and Selsyn Blue or Head and Shoulders.

I heard about keto but cant get it here where I am. Quickly googled about selsyn blue and that i can get here so i will check it out. Thank you.

Quick question, is there another name for minoxidil and does it come in pills? If it does, whats the normal dosage?
Asking because i found finpecia 1mg which is also finsteride but with different name and cheaper and maybe i can get it without prescription.

I also had this problem. On the internet I read that it is from a lack of vitamins. So I started taking different vitamin complexes which I may be missing. I exercise regularly and lose weight and it doesn't affect my hair loss so I'm happy
