Hello,

first off, I'd like to apologize for my bad English, as it is not my native language. My problems span a year and something, beginning in October 2015 and continuing to present times.

I've been obese for the most of my life (I've been suffering from GERD for about two years now) and in October 2015, I decided to lose weight. I've (kinda) cleaned up my diet and I started working out. I lost 55 pounds in about 4 months, reflux completely gone, but then I've suddenly stopped. Weight loss started to feel really sluggish and slowly (but surely) I strayed more and more from my training regimen, ultimately stopping at May, 2016. Reflux then made a glorious comeback. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is about hair loss.

First time I noticed it was around April, 2016. Thinning was really noticeable at the crown area, but my hairline practically stayed the same. I've been really bummed out about this, as the only bald person in my family is my mother's father, and he lost his hair after his first attack. Until the incident he had a full head of thick hair. I went to a dermatologist and was informed that it's probably a temporary thing, caused by harsh diet change and a quick weight loss. It didn't stop my stress, but it gave me hope that it'll probably be better. It didn't. Thinning now covers my entire scalp and hairline moved slightly up. I was my every other day, but even the day after it's extremely greasy. The worst part is constant itching and really painful hair roots, which constatnly feel like being pulled. I probably wouldn't freak out about this if not for all the other symptoms (I would because I'm kinda vain), but with things being like this, I am very unhappy. Second visit at dermatologist revealed to me that "nothing is visibly wrong", which upset me even more. Finally, two weeks ago I had a blood test and it came out that I have a hypothyroidism. Could that be a cause of my painful hair loss? Can it be at least partially reversed? If not, can I at least get rid of that horrible pain? I'm sorry for the wall of text, I'm really stressed out about this, and this being my first post and all. Thanks all in advance
