Hey all.
Long story short, I am a 28 year old transgender woman with a Norwood 5V pattern of loss. I put this in the male section because my hair loss is caused by being genetically male and follows that pattern.
It sucks.
I have had a 5000 graft, 2 dayd combocFUT and FUEt transplant all over the affected area, 4.5 months ago, but I am very, very skeptical of the results. I went in skeptical, was told by my consultant that I wouldn't need to wear a wig any more after the transplant regrew, went for it anyway because a fall from a bridge seemed the best alternative at the time, and now I am spending hours each day fretting whilst waiting.
Any crazy ideas you can fold into my regimen will be given much consideration, because I am totally desperate to regain hair to live a relatively comfortable life as a woman (I know there are plenty of women with hair loss, but for most they don't have to worry about their hair loss bringing into question whether they are a woman).
My regimen includes:
* 0.5mg dutasteride / day
* 5mg finasteride / day
* 5% Minoxidil foam in the morning (makes my hair look less shitty when I am in boymode at work)
* 5% Minoxidil solution at night
* 100mg of Spironolactone a day (once in-house pharmacy get me the stuff again, I ran out and my delivery is late!)
* 2mg oral Estradiol valerate
* 50mg Estradiol valerate transdermal patch sometimes (I have then lying around from prescribed HRT medication)
* 5 mg/ml injectable Estradiol valerste / twice a week
* 1.5mm microneedling once a week
* Nutritional tablets
* Once weekly caffeine shampoo use (on the days without minoxidil due to dermaneedling)
What else can I do?!
I have considered spreading some of my estradioo valerate ampules all over my scalp (with or without microneedling).
Any thoughts on that? Just a waste?
As far as further surgery goes, I am entertaining the following options:
* A £3500 FUE transplant with Dr Acar of Cosmedica or the AEK clinic in Turkey. My problem with this idea is running out of donor hair and them not actually physically looking at my hair until I am in Turkey, paid-up, and it's pretty much too late to back out.
* Another UK based transplant (probably another £9000). The only real advantage to this is that I _might_ be able to get the doctor to look at it BEFORE paying up and going ahead if I am lucky.
* Hair Science Institute's stem cell hair transplant. Advantages? Might preserve donor hair indefinitely. Disadvantages? Costs a f*** ton for little hair movement and it might be snake oil.
Can anybody share any advice either about the regimen for regrowth or new surgeries?
Anybody got any thoughts about how much hair I should be seeing after 4.5 months post-transplant? 30% of final hairs? 60% of final hairs. 100% of final hairs?!
Thanks all.
