Hair loss medication and pregnancy

I need help!

Not only do I have androgenic alopecia but I am also trying to get pregnant which of course minimizes the medication I can take. Has anybody any experience with using Minoxidil, etc. during pregnancy? The package just tells you to talk to your ob/gyn and from what I have gathered on the web the company has no info on the effects it has on an unborn...

I have the exact same question. I am considering minoxidil treatment and am not taking birth control. I had a consultation with a hair restoration company today. They said to talk to my OBGYN, but they didn't think it was ill-advised during pregnancy. It's just scary, isn't it? If you find anything out - please post and I'll do the same.

I would not use it if you plan on becoming pregnant. That was my situation too. I knew I wanted to get pregnant when my hairloss started and when I went to the Derm. he told me, no minoxidil. if you plan on becoming pregnant. So I just dealt with it till I did become pregnant and let me tell you me hair stopped falling out and grew in. It's after the pregnancy that I lost all of it again. So my option was to start minoxidil. but I chose not too. Instead I'm trying to calm down, eat better, and rest.
I've had no shedding for 9 months, but my hair regrowth will never catch up to what I've lost.
