Ok, so I used the lasercomb from early/mid March to about a week ago. I just returned it the other day. I need money right now because I just got out of school and have yet to land full-time employment. In a few months, I might order another one on someone else's credit card so I'll still have that 12 week trial period thing going on. By the way, they are really liberal with the 12 week trial period. They extended mine another 8 weeks and were willing to extend it even further, but I declined the second extension because I need money. You could probably use it for about 6 months before sending it back if you really wanted to.
As far as actual results, I can't judge. I don't think I was using it long enough, I was simultaneously using various topicals that I started using shortly after I got the lasercomb, and I stopped Propecia 9 months ago. Just too much going on to separate everything and say, "Ok this is effective, that is effective, and all the rest isn't." My hair looks pretty good now, relatively speaking, considering the shed I went through when I stopped Propecia, so I feel like I may be getting decent results. However, I've decided to stop all topicals until after I get my hormones tested and land a full-time job. Hopefully, the gods of hairloss will be kind to me and I won't go through another shed like I did when I stopped Propecia.
I think I read that the Phase III FDA trials for the Lasercomb are almost finished (anyone know more about this?), so maybe in a few months we will know whether or not this thing has FDA approval for hair regrowth. I will definitely pick one up again if it gets FDA approval.
But I definitely want to say that the people at Lexington (the manufacturers of the lasercomb) are very helpful. I really could have used the Lasercomb for about 6 months, possibly even more, before returning it if I had really wanted to. So if you are well-off and have about 650 bucks lying around, I say give it a shot, use it for 6 months, and if you don't see results, get your money back.
