Hair quality?

Hey guys

I did some pics of my hair in the general discussion. I have thinning hair ontop of the head. I am in beggining stages of hairloss.

I currently use Proscar and Nizerol shampoo.

I am now going to add in Minoxidel after the advice from this board. What I want to know is, what kind of stregth of hair I will get? would the quality of my hiar get better? Like when i style them, would they look good, or just fluffy hair?

The quality of the hair should increase over time. You will likely grow vellus hairs that will hopefully grow into terminal (thick & dark) hairs.

cheers bro, i know its down to individuals. But how long has fuzzy hair taken to grow into good quality hair? down to experience?

I only saw any difference after about 4 months. And as far as I saw, minoxidil's real forte is thickening up existing hair, not regrowth (although there was a bit of this to be fair)

My temples are sprouting, it's insane. Of course I'd assume the hair in these areas has been lost for at most 2 years, so I have a better chance of bringing it back.

minoxidil thickens up existing hair? i thought it only replaced it with minoxidil hair. the reason is i think i'm a hairs breadth from cosmetically unacceptable hair and minoxidil is the last rabbit in my hat. i'm scared sheds may tip me off the edge, and minoxidil is the shedmaster is it not?

Good on you. I suppose everyone's different then. My regimen has been v. good to me and I can't complain, only where I've experienced most regrowth has been beneath my temples... a kind of renegade arrowhead of hair which is launching a desperate bid to reach my eyebrows!

On the dead centre of my forehead I've gained maybe 0.5cm of new hair in a year of religious usage of dutasteride and minoxidil. My hair in the front in general has also thickened up really nicely.

My caveat stems simply from the fact that the deepest inroads of the recession at my temples have stayed roughly the same. The horseshoe shape is still there... It has just beocme pointier, and less blunt. I'd rather it were blunter and less far advanced.
