hair systems..

I was planning to buy a hair system but I have thought about it and decided its not for me. First of all it will itch when I workout at the gym or run, which I plan to do. The other reason is that it will require continuously maintenance by a stylist that cut it/my hair to match each other, which Im sure will look like **** if I do it myself. Being dependent on a stylist to help me fix it everytime I want to change system/"cut it in" is what ultimately made me decide not to go for it. Besides from being a real hassle it will cost money too..

So I will continue to be a nw5, looking like a ****ing old man... It SUCKS!!!!'

Looking like an alien I mean...

I checked your link and it was really great results I admit. But finasteride/minoxidil is not for me because Im afraid of the side effects, have heard some horror scenarios on this forum like persons being impotent of it and it doesn't get better even if the person stops with the medications.. Im thinking about SMP mixed with hairtransplant, but there is no way I can afford it in my current life situation... I personally think right now hair transplant mixed with SMP, and having the shaved look is the best treatment out there.

I totally agree with that..

So you are not planning a SMP treatment yet for I while then, it will be really interesting to follow your result, my hairloss looks really similar to yours.

I agree in that hair transplant for hairline, SMP and shaved is a great combination. Personally I think if youre in the high norwood you can kiss long hair goodbye even with hair transplants. It generally looks wispy and thin unless styled in very specific ways. You get some rain or wind? Youre boned. Downward angles or bright lights? Looks crap.

Fred's got the right idea, keeps it high and tight and it looks good.. I don't think it would look too great grown out.

In terms of meds hundreds of cases of people using finasteride I've noticed very few with long term sides... And even then some of those cases are dubious to say the least

I was scared of finasteride sides for a while before taking it. I've been on it 5 months now and haven't felt a thing. Anyway, if you get a hair transplant you will probably have to get on finasteride anyway otherwise you might end up losing that transplanted hair.

Have you got any pleasing results yet then? Is it so? Then I might have to consider it in the future...

It's only been 5 months so it's hard to tell. My hair looks pretty much the same since when I started, no noticeable regrowth, but shedding seems to have slowed down almost completely. I added minoxidil just this weekend.

Too many guys give up the fight over some comments made by a bunch of random guys on the internet. Many(not all) of those guys are trolls with full heads of hair that want you to look your worst.

I agree with that notcool. And I would even go as far to say that certain low nws on this site tend to favor the nw3s as being cool and relatable while being critical and untrusting of the few bald guys here, holding us in contempt. Even here, the full heads hate the baldies, just like real life. Isnt that great?

I just hate so much how so many men with thinning hair get scared away from legitimate treatments all because some vocal minority said to stay away from them. I'm for sure that hundreds of thousands of men would have had plenty of benefit from treatments if it weren't for the scaremongers and better general knowledge of the medications.

The stories you hear over at propeciahelp are honestly scary as fvck though. I doubt any of them are just elaborate trolls. So while I do agree that people should probably take the risk if they want their hair, I don't blame them at all for being scared to try

I've been to that site before; I don't even find the stories scary, just plain exaggerated. They'll list every single possible side effect that exists and that you can experience all of them just from taking Finasteride. It's like that for every medication, there's benefits and possible risks. Also, lawsuits exist for every medication and I just can't figure out why Propecia gets so much negative attention. There are many different medications out there that can cause far worse side effects or even kill you, and they don't get anywhere as much attention as Finasteride does.

As doublebatman has posted before, "If you go to PropeciaHelp, you'll get Post-Finasteride Syndrome."

I really don't blame any of them either. Like I said, all the horror stories used to get to me also. I just realize how important it is to get on treatments during the beginning stages of hair loss. I want guys to use me as an example of what not to do. Don't wait for your hair to be in the advanced stages of hair loss before you decide to do something. More often than not it is too late at that point. I hate to say it, but most of us will not be as lucky as the guys that go from severely diffuse NW3 or 4 to a full head of hair.

I wish I had gotten on finasteride when I first noticed I was going to go bald. I figured "if they had a cure, there'd be way fewer bald guys around, current treatments are probably scams" and just kind of accepted it without reading into it or thinking about it. Fast forward a few years, norwood 3 with diffuse thinning. Now on finasteride/minoxidil. I'd give anything to go back in time and force 20 year old me on finasteride.

That's about right. I actually went on that "help" site the other day and had a good read. It's ridiculous. As I have a scientific background I can quickly decipher most the stuff on there. But it's easy to see why some are swayed over there.

Mental illnesses can make you have "physical" symptoms. I'm sure some on there had legit sides on the medication, but what was initially due to the drug, later became psychological and "permanent."

Well like you said in the past, only baldies can relate to each other, so why wouldn't low norwoods relate to each other too? There are trolls yes on this forum, but they are all kinds of ones, you are just seeing what you want to see. Trolls on here have been:

Anti propecia/med ones, fullheads laughing, snake oil salesman, even horseshoe people troll on here!
