I started losing hair when I was probably 18 or 19. And now I am 26, almost 27 and I have done nuthin bout it till now. You can just imagine how much the damage is...Damn

Anywys, I did nothing coz my family has not history of male pattern baldness and hence my doctor suggested its probably just family/exam stress. My foot stress.

Anyways, after wards I just kept ignoring my hair loss and no one seemed to notice it too. One corner of my mind I always had that fear that I was balding but I thought it will be years before anyone notices...Bad Bad Bad

Anyways things have gone from bad to worse lately.

Here are my Pics which I took today after getting a short haircut. Really things have gone bad and now I wanna do something about it.

http://hairlosshelp.com/websites/hairhaircomeagain/

Ok, I know most of you will correctly advise me to go on the big 3.

But I am being a pussy and dont wanna go on Proepcia. The side effects scare the sh*t outta me. Although I have never tried it, I just cant get enough kick to get started on it even after looking at my balding pics.

I am thinking of going the Herbs way.

Use http://www.freewebs.com/immortalhair/my ... egimen.htm immortal hairs regimen. I dont know whether it will help, but it will atleast get me started.

What do you guys think ? Am I just being foolish and further screwing up my chances of growing hair.

Propecia scares the sh*t outta me. Along with the sexual side effects, there are others like dizziness, brain bluriness et stuff that I just can afford right now when I have a demanding job that uses every grey cell in my brains.

Please, advise, advise, advise...Inputs will be highly appreciated.

BTW...After looking at my pics today I am really wondering if I am being too optimistic thinking myself as NW2. Whats my correct Norwood level.

Great Thanks

what makes you think that taking those huge number of pills wont give you side effects.
start propecia.
you are only nw2. it is not too late.
i didn't start finasteride until I was Nw6.

techprof --> All those supplements in IH's regimen do not play with your hormone level. Procepia does. Its true that Procepia does not effect everyone, but it does effect a large population of users initially but again some adjust to those levels while others suffer. This part seems OK.

What I think is the worst is this -- After reading many forums online, i noticed that large population of users stop using this after 3-4 years. This brings back the hair loss but still maintains the negative effects. This is what I dont like. I am still considering it but I wanna try something less risky stuff for sometime. But then again Propecia is on my list...Phew...I am so confused...I guess like many of you here.

techprof -> You did not experience any neg effects from propecia ??

BTW Guys --> Daylight timing changes today. Move your watches ahead by an hour befor going to sleep :)

hairhair,
no side effects for finasteride.
initially mental fog for few weeks.
no sides with dutasteride yet.

if you use immortal hair's regimen, it could mess with hormones.
I read a poster posting reduction in dht levels after using his regimen for six months.

So use FDA approved treatments. you are only nw2, you will stay nw2 if you use finasteride. I haven't heard or seen a single poster becoming worse from nw2 or nw3 or more after getting on finasteride or big 3.

hairhair, if you don't want to use finasteride,
try minoxidil, nizoral and Dr. Proctor's prescription proxiphen.
If presc. prox is too expensive, try prox-n and topical spironolactone and other sods.

you're right the only thing anyone can advise you with any certainty is the big 3 - for what its worth my situation was/is pretty much identical - I pretty much ignored hairloss until age 27 and then jumped on revivogen/spironolactone/ copper peptides and a bunch of other exotic treatments (dr proctors stuff) because all the stuff I read seemed to make so much sense and I was scare sh!tless of the sides from finasteride - I remember thinking of finasteride as something "hardcore" and that I would use the soft options first as I wasnt actually bald yet

well I got tired of using revivogen after 10 months because there was just no way for me to be sure it was working and guess what - Im now 1 week away from 5 months on finasteride (still on spironolactone and copper peps) - I see vellus come through, my ex girlfriend who I hadnt seen in 6 months said (without any provocation from me) that my hair is looking a bit thicker - but yeah I shed for at least a month when I started, and I experienced some of the sexual sides (which have gradually dissappeared Im glad to report) and I still feel like Im struggling to make any progress.

My whole perspective on finasteride has changed from "no way in hell can I touch that evil drug" to "if I genuinely want to treat my hairloss I need to get real and take the plunge" - It took me a whole year to build up the courage to make that decision - and Im happy I have taken it - even if propecia doesnt work or I develop more sides then I will stop and know that I tried everything available to stop male pattern baldness from becoming a reality. It all depends how much you hate losing your hair.

Having looked at your pictures objectively speaking I think your hair is still in good shape and that to keep what you have would be an achievement for most let alone any regrowth (which is possible too )

good luck with your decision.

Thanks Hawaii and lithe. As I read more and more post, it seems like using Propecia should not be that bad. I know I can stop it if I see any neg side effects like you guys have planned. BTW, Very happy that you guys on the regrowth path.

Another things I fear that people get sides from propecia even after using it for 2-3 yrs and then they have to leave it. Then you are back to square one. Ofcourse all this, I ll stop thinking bout once I see that other stuff is not working.

Right now I am on nizoral 1% which I am planning to upgrade to 2%.
Today I orders Immortal Hairs top 3 and planning to make some super zix along with application of some stron herbal oil which has helped goinggoingbutnotgone and Jupiter a lot. I will see if these helps in reducing my hair loss for 6 months. If not then I am sure by then I ll be confident to get onto finasteride.

What do you think guys ? And good luck with your hair care :)

BTW...About the comment on how much I hate losing my hair. My life has complete HELL and I mean complete HELL since the pat one month. I am scared and hence hate to look in the mirror or even touch my hair. I know Hairloss sux .... :(

well there is nothing stopping you combining treatments (even though the advice always seems to be stick with one thing to see if it works first) - I dont know too much about zix but my view is if something is easy enough and cheap enough for me to use alongside finasteride (and has some evidence to show it may work) then it can't do any harm which is why I use spironolactone/ copper peptides

I also had the fear of getting sides 2-3 years into finasteride and if that would make the whole thing a waste of time - but then again I try not to think of finasteride as a lifelong commitment i.e. its something I will use until a better solution comes along in the next 5 years - looking at other threads this is no longer a mystery other thing are actually in the pipeline such as Curis and HM.

Also if I was to get sides after 2-3 years and HAD to stop then the hair I kept/regrew with finasteride would not fall out overnight it would take me sometime to get back to baseline and I may even be able to keep it for longer using spironolactone and copper peptides and even minoxidil which I dont currently use

Man your hair looks good!

And no I am not gonna say learn to love yourself!!

I've been on propecia for 2+years. The results were good. Although the results only started getting good as it appreoached using it two years. I could see results after 6 months (even 3 months but barely) but they weren't enough to make me happy. But eventually the propecia really did it's job and helped to thicken up my hair at my crown (where it wasn't really bad at all) but also near the hairline (it didn't bring back my highschool hairline, but i knew that wouldn't happen.) And the reason I wanted to write you is: no side effects. At all. Ever.

Recently I have added to my regimen, and the results have been impressive in only about 7 weeks. I don't know what to recommend, and what your economic situation, but I do know you should use propecia, proscor, generic finasteride, whatever! It works great and it's easy and like i said, no side effects (for me atleast.)

Best of luck.

Thanks..Folically Challenged...lol...nice work going on the ID :)

Yeah, I am building up more courage as people have started responding and some reassurance. However I am have already ordered my first batch of Immortal Hairs regime and am gonna try it for a few months ( 3-4 ) and even if I see a small diff I ll continue with it. But the way my mind is changing..seems like I should be on propecia soon :)

Thanks again
