A little background, I only have baldness on one side of my family and even at that the brothers who lost their hair were diffuse thinners (never fully gone). My father's family on the other hand all have great hair but with the widows peak "mature" hairline. I'm currently 27 with the same hairline I had at 17 (I lost temple hair while on Accutane but it hasn't moved back since). The only reason I started dermarolling with minoxidil is more of a personal experiment to see if it's possible to regrow those hairs/grow new hair at all after a decade of flat bald temples. My question is given all the men in my family have retained majority of their hair, (grandad is also "mature" with tons of it at 80) should I worry about receding further? My worst fear is the diffuse thinning from my moms uncles will combine with my dad's NW2 genes and I'll go full bald or something. Has anyone here receded to a Norwood 2ish and stayed that way?
My hairline was 1.5 cm lower before Accutane and has remained the way it looks in the photo for the past 10 years. For anyone who wants to follow along with my temple growth journey I'll be updating monthly, this picture is from 3 weeks ago and since starting the minoxidil plus 1.75mm dermastamp regimen I'm already seeing small blonde hairs where my teenage hairline used to be!
