hairline receding in a 'weird' direction.

so, in the last 7-8 years or so, my hairline has receded about 1,5 cm or so. however, the strange thing is, that it hasn't receded back. instead, it has gone in about 1,5 cm on each side and in towards the middle. so from having a v-shaped hairline, my hairline is now more of a u-shaped. looking from above, it's pretty much an exact nw2.

isn't the hairline supposed to reced backwards and not inwards?

No, that is pretty common also. You may end up with an island patch up front.

ok. don't think i'll get the 'island' though. my hair at the front is just as thick as everywhere else, but it has just turned into a nw2 from a nw1,5 in the last 7-8 years.
