Hi There.

Just a quick one to run by.

I am 22 years old and have lost quite a bit of frontal loss I am now bordering a Norwood 3 with no hairloss at crown. For myself the impact has been devistating and my hairloss has become almost an obsession. I thin frontal hairloss is perhaps the worst as you can see it everywhere you go its like loosing the frame from your picture.

It has taken a massive blow to my overall confidence and leaves me feeling somewhat depressed everyday i see it. I have found to socialise less and always paranoid about going out in public. I have been reading through it and alot of people like my partner states dont worry about it, however i feel that you cannot change how you feel about it and have decided that I dont ever want to go bald. (Not that I have anything against people that are.)

I have been looking into transplantation surgery in the UK to re-establish my frontal hairline. I have been looking into going ahead with a procedure with Dr Richard Rogers, Anyone have any experience with him?

Never heard of him. All I can say is check out the hair transplant section of the board and do your research thoroughly before getting an op.

Remember that the op results will be a permanent change to your appearance so you really want to research and spend the right amount on the right doctors or you could come out worse than you went in.

Also as a NW3 you will need to be on finasteride when you get a hair transplant, or you will likely bald behind the transplanted hair in a few years and could look disfigured.

Consider getting FUE rather than Strip incase you don't like the results. With a Strip hair transplant you will be unable to cut your hair any closer than a #3 or #4 otherwise you will have the big strip scar showing. With FUE you can shave much closer.

- Edit - I think Gemini X had a hair transplant with this Doctor? (Gemini X is a transgender user on this board, and I think she is the only person I have seen go from a NW6 to a NW1)

I am 26 years old, and I am fighting the same problem. I always said it wouldn't bother me, but it has begun to be an issue. Initially, I tried store bought products, but saw no results. After thinking about my decision, it was a waste of time and money as I didn't understand how they worked. Now, I am seeking treatment from a doctor that has explained how it works. Hopefully, I will see better results.

22 sounds too young, idk.. 26 too.. i say around 30 when/if stops...its not very smart to get an hair transplant for nw3 headed towards NW6 down the road..

Definitely not.

hair transplant is a drastic solution and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Have you been to a dermatologist already? Have you tried minoxidil, finasteride and/or Nizoral? I know very little about hair transplant but they are clearly a last resort solution.
