Has anyone had success from once a day application?

I'm currently using minoxidil 5% once a day (to avoid side effects etc). Has anyone had any success doing this - either maintenance or regrowth? If you've experienced maintenance, did you go through a shed before you hair returned to its pre-minoxidil state?

This is a concept im still trying to grasp myself. I have been on both Proscar and minoxidil for 3.5 months my hair loss seeeeems to be slowing gradually...may be my imagination however I do have a decent amount of regrowth on my right hairline but yet to see anything significant on my left.
My applicaitons have been once a day at 2mil.

I heard different stories of 1mil twice a day but for me this will be virtually impossible a make do with the once application of 2mil.

I forgot to add that is minoxidil 7%.

I generally apply 5% minoxidil once a day with occasional applications twice a day. I have noticed a bit of new hairs along my hairline but not on my cown where I need it most. I would apply minoxidil more frequently if I was able to manage my hair better after the application.

I had huge success on 5% minoxidil applied only once a day. However, I'm also one of those truly rare good responders overall to minoxidil. I even grew tons of hair using minoxidil in places where -- after two straight years -- finasteride simply could not grow much of any hair. And minoxidil grew far more hair on my hairline, than my crown... contrary to the advertised results. Only after mixing Retin-a with my minoxidil applications did my crown also start responding. Again, I guess it depends on just how good a responder you are to minoxidil.
