Everything i seem to read online is that temples just seem to get worse and regrowth is rare, i am 19 and currently taking Finasteride to stop my recession getting worse however since taking it i dont feel like the speed of recession has slowed much (6 weeks on) although shedding has stopped. Am i just to early on the meds or does it genuinely take something stronger to stop loss in this area?

Definitely one of the most sensitive areas to androgens. You have to keep in mind even on finasteride you have almost 30 percent of the 5 ar 2 enzyme still there converting DHT. unlike dutasteride the finasteride is not removing all your DHT which is probably a good thing

Have you had any success at halting temple recession and thickening with finasteride alone?

Not on it, but for most I do think there is some slight further temple/front recession even on finasteride. Again finasteride is not removing all DHT there is still plenty there to cause male pattern baldness but it should slow significantly. In some cases I bet propecia alone can stop male pattern baldness everywhere it just impossible to say. its certainly possible

I was thinking about dutasteride after 6 months of finasteride if it continued but i do feel im experiencing slight erectile dysfunction from finasteride not that i cant just that it takes a bit longer and a bit harder to maintain, do u think dutasteride would cause this to worsen since its stronger?

Its not even fair for me to guess at this. I dont think anyone can predict this kind of thing. Logically it seems dutasteride would be worse just that its a lot stronger, but who really knows. I just think you should research some things like dutasteride and its link to insulin levels. That seems pretty risky to me for hair, but its your choice if your okay with the health risks
