Has There Ever Been A Worse Time To Be Balding Than Today?

1. So, so much of dating happens over the internet. On most apps (Tinder, etc.), you are evaluated in 1 second, 100% based on that profile picture. There are many variables in attraction, but we can agree that for those under 30, hair does hold a lot of weight. The constant focus on youthfulness is very polarizing - You could take two guys that look identical, but the one with the better hair will have a field day on the dating apps, compared to the (even slightly) balding fella.

2. The "male model haircut" is peaking right now. (example, like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/bc/ac/71/bcac71cc97e52e2ffe890623e65f4301.jpg ). Not only do you need to have Norwood -1 thickness, but you also need a perfect hairline. It's so bad that NW1 guys are getting hair transplant's, just to make their hairlines straighter or better.

Yes, I know, the majority of guys won't get haircuts like that, or fix it like that. It takes a lot of time, you need to get it cut very regularly, and what not. But it has been trending like crazy for a couple of years now. The more normalized it is (through constant exposure on social media), the more sh!t balding guys look.

3. The use of social media has exploded. This, in turn, means that people are taking pictures all the time. Group selfies, chatting over selfies, random people taking photos, getting auto-tagged.
No mater how good you're hiding / concealing / being careful with the pictures, everyone will see you from every angle possible. You will probably never that unflattering in real life, but what does that matter when some jackass takes a picture of you with flash, or in shitty indoor lighting, and sending it to everybody? "Oh my, is [name] balding?"

On the positive side, we may be one the verge of curing this illness. Until then, keep calm and cope on.

Absolutely spot on my man. Spice it up a little more: the job market is more competitive and network-based and client-based than ever; balding makes it all even more difficult for us young defective untermensch to break in and build a successful career.

This also why, sometimes, I feel like I want to crawl in a hole and die.

At least we have some treatments that for the most part work (e.g., finasteride & dutasteride) and transplant have come a LONG way. I would not want to be a balding guy prior to like 1997 lol.

Prefer this, Not gay-peacockish like the one you posted.

what I am sporting right now. Pretty much have to get a hair cut every 2 weeks to maintain a low fade. Runs me around 70 bucks a month.

Always tip barber 10.00 a cut. Blades me good, and goes well beyond your typical cut.

pro tip: never let a women cut your hair or go to price cuts. Always go to a barber, preferably Lebanese that specialize in fades, and cut afro hair.

How do you have hairloss and a cut like that? If you have a cut like that, you can't have hairloss.

LOL. That's good that you like your haircut.

I don't go to cheap places either. Only expensive ones. There's no point in working to grow as little hair as I have
on my head, and not have it look good.
