Have I been living with a side for the past week?

Within the last week or so, I’ve suffered from a blocked, itchy nose with both nostrils pretty full of a mixture of the usual mess but blood too. The insides of both noses were a little bit ‘raw’ too, almost scratched if that makes sense.

The blood element concerns me, could propecia or minoxidil have caused this? It seems to have subsided within the past day or so....so could it just have been the usual cold, but with blood or just a general issue or could it have been and lead to something more serious?

The thing is I’ve dismissed it as one of those things for the last week and even though it’s seemingly getting better, it’s only just hit me now that have I been living through a side effect for the past week

By the way, I've been on finpecia and minoxidil for nearly 5 months now....

It sounds more like inflamed sinuses/sinus infection. The blood could be simply caused by dry, irritated sinuses. I highly doubt it is caused by finasteride. minoxidil could possibly be the culprit, but since you stated the insides were "raw", I tend to doubt that too. Is there any greenish, foul smelling mucous?

Go see a doctor if it concerns you.

I'm planning to do that....my doctors seems pretty harsh on finasteride though, so my thinking is that they'll take the safe route and advise me to try some time off it, which I really don't want to do ideally.

To be fair, my initial thoughts were sinuses or even an element of hayfever? The thing with me and minoxidil is that I've used it on and off for the past few years and nothing like that has ever happened. Therefore, I was thinking it was more likely to be finasteride, but maybe I am just worrying that I'm due a side effect and blaming the stuff I'm taking. I guess with it involving blood, its just worrying me slightly although the stuff isn't streaming out of my nose.
