Head and Shoulders

Head and Shoulders seems to be the only shampoo that works great for me. I'm concerned over the study that compared nizoral and head and shoulders which found that head and shoulders caused a decrease in the average diameter of ones hair shafts. I feel that it depends on the individual and the underlying cause(specific organism) of the dandruff. Some dandruff may be controlled with pyrithione zinc, and some with ketoconazole.
Any comments?

Dr. Lewenberg recommended Head and Shoulders intensive therapy to me because of the Zinc. I use Nizoral and love it.

head and Shoulder Intensive therapy contains selenium sulfide, not zinc pyrithione like the other head and shoulders formulations.

Zinc and minoxidil react with eachother effectively cancelling each other out :)

Dr. Bombscience sez:

Head & Shoulders has no practical application in fighting Hairloss.

Note: This is completely a guess.. but if it really did help more people would be using this.

Sting Ray, Is it true that H&S with ZINC cancelles out minoxidil effect?.. Seriously I have been using it on my Non-nizoral days. Looks like its not a good idea at all. :(

Well, check out Dr. Lee's site. http://www.minoxidil.com. Since you wash the head and shoulders out, there's no problem...but those that use zinc on their head as suppliments... that's where the problem happens. It reacts with minoxidil creating impenetrable salts rendering topicals ineffective. Just what i read however...might not be 100% accurate.
