Hello, I’m a 20 year old male, and I’m looking for feedback on my situation. I’ve been paranoid about my hair these last couple of months I believe that my hair line is receding but my parents and my barber don’t believe or are just trying to make me feel better. My genetics would lead me to believe that I’m not balding l. As my father had a full head of hair at 64 although slightly receded. While my mothers father had hair until he was in has late 60’s. I’m not sure about my fathers side as he was adopted. My ancestry test says I have an 80% to not have any thinning or receding before 40 but I’m thinking that I’m receding. I haven’t noticed any thinning at all as my hair is very thick, just my hairline.
The first picture is of my hair I believe junior year of high school. And the next few picture are of now. I would love some honest feedback thank you.

I’m trying to be as preemptive as possible. I already have minoxidil and the anti androgen shampoo and the Derminator2.0 on the way.

Definately balding. Those short hairs at the corner thats how receeding starts, eventually they stop growing entirely.
Should I try getting a prescription for finasteride? I purchased a micro needler and have minoxidil. Should I start using the minoxidil now or wait for the micro needler to arrive? I also have keto shampoo coming.

also which short hairs at the corner are you referring to?

1st pic you can see a pattern of recession forming, a perforation around Norwood 2.5. You might never go very bald but you will almost certainly have some recession.

They look as thick as the other hairs, but I have a dermatologist appointment in a few weeks I’ll ask then!
I can almost bet the dermatologist is going to say your hair is fine and you are not balding. You are better off going to a doctor who specializes in hair loss and will look under a microscope for miniaturization and instead of "eyeballing" your hair. Dermatologists are better for skin cancer and acne.

My father has a similar pattern of reccession all be it worse cause he is older but he isn’t bald. Because I have not noticed any thinning. Is there anything I should do or just accept it? As my whole family has had hair well into there 60’s

attached is dads hairline

Here is a sort of shitty photo of my dads hairline. He is 62. It’s receded but not bad at all for his age

Hard to predict your future but your dad's genetics are no guarantee you won't have hair loss. Any hair loss on your mom's side?

My mother’s father had hair into the 60’s as well. And her mother’s lineage all seems to have hair looking at some old photos
My ancestry test seems to think I won’t have any thinning until atleast 40, 80% of little to no thinning whatever that means.

Sounds like you most likely won't have male pattern baldness but norming receding in your 40's and 50's like most men.

I have a micro needles and some minoxidil do you think I should try filling in my perforation or would that be a bad idea?

Future is cure 5 years away from now, you know that Doctor!
Yes I do but he wants to know what to do now. @20andSomething just wait until you see someone who confirms you have male pattern baldness before you do anything.
