Hi! I have noticed a considerable amount of hair loss at the temple and on the top of my head in past couple of months. I am confused as to whether this is male pattern hair loss or is it caused by the extreme levels of stress I faced recently or my abnormal blood test results.

I have been losing hair since 3-4 years but I noticed aggressive thinning since September. My family has history of male pattern baldness on both sides. My dad definitely had it at the age of 40-45, not sure when it noticeably began. I don't know when my mum's dad had it.

Regarding stress, I endured extremely high level of stress from early May to mid-September due to mental health problems. Also, I had blood tests done by my GP in early July. It showed high folate level and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Please give me your best opinion based on this and the pictures or suggest me where can I get the best hair loss consultation in UK without any pushy sales pitch.

NB. I am 30 years old.

Do you mean my aggressive thinning is due to stress/improper diet which according to my understanding is usually reversible or it's male pattern hair loss?

If it's the first case, would addressing the causes be enough to reverse the hair loss or should I still take medication?

If it was stress related hair loss you would have loss hair on the back and sides. And stress accelerates hair loss or male pattern baldness, which you have. Youre losing hair on the top of your head and your hair is minituriazing on there too
