Help needed Proscar Side effects

Pls Help

I have been on Proscar for about 3.2months, been cutting it into 1/5ths.
I am still shedding the same amount of hair as before taking finasteride?
Can not really see any major improvement other than an assumed better hair texture and definitely a lot more grey hairs all over.


Side effects:
I had no side effects for 3months until today.

this is not normal with my case, because I usually have problems suppressing my worryingly high sex drive.....I just hit 30yrs last month

My new Girlfriend did not complain, however it needed persuasion to get it going??


I am very Scared!
Should I carry on taking finasteride for a week and see if the side effects go away or
should I just stop taking finasteride.

Also apparently I have lost a lot of weight? and I am eating as per normal.

It's unlikely you will see any improvement after only 3 months. Wait at least 6 before looking. It may even take up to a year to see results. Keep in mind, having the same amount of hair as when you started is a good result.

finasteride does not affect weight, so if you lost weight it is likely because of something else.

The big problem with a lot of guys on finasteride is the second they have any sexual problems whatsoever, they freak out, get all worked up about it and quit. It's NORMAL for every guy to have times where it's not easy to get into the mood or whatever. Stress is a big factor in this. Have you been reading a lot about sexual side effects on propecia? Once you get that idea in your mind, it can have a negative effect on your sex life.

There is a very small chance it will cause sexual sides, but I would recommend giving it some time before quitting.

No I have not been reading a lot about sexual side effects on propecia after I began treatment.

It is really weird because....I used to get them often...but in the run up to this problem I cannot remember getting them.


However yesterday after posting here, I went and did many press-ups to keep fit and stay in shape as was psychologically wounded , after the work out I took a can of a protein shake , this is just a one off as I am loosing weight.
Guess what? some how, during the night time it was rock solid for hrs, occasionally waking me up, I was surprised as I have been still taking the finasteride since the incident.

This is strange, I honestly dont know what to think...


I really need the finasteride to work..... but cannot risk my scac functions at all.

I took your previous advice and continued the finasteride, as I am convincing my to think that it is psychosomatic ...... hope it is

I am only using finasteride at the moment.....minoxidil is causing excessive flakes on my scalp(dandruff) so discontinued its use..........

recommend me an alternative

**Update** I decided to stop using Proscar 1week ago as it also stared maaking very tired with brain fog and the erections were still not germinating as normal....


I have stopped fopr 1 week and the problem is now I am having watery seamen?

Garry,

Side effects generally take a few weeks to go away, since your hormone levels take a bit of time to normalize. Give it a few more weeks, you will be back to normal in no time!
