Hi,

I'm a 21 year old male and I've recently noticed that my crown is thinning out. Based on the pictures I've attached, i am wondering how worried i should be, and whether i should start taking medication to treat it early on? I was trying to weigh up minoxidil/rogaine and propecia. I would really appreciate your feedback as this is definitely concerning me, and not sure whether it's worth trying out medication. I am swayed towards trying out minoxidil as i have read that it is good for crown regrowth.

Thanks,

H

your crown looks normal to me - lots of people have that without hair loss -
but if you know you are thinning - and its not just different hair cuts - then i highly recommend oral Propecia (finasteride) 1mg daily. you can get a script from any doctor.

liquid topical minoxidil 1ml twice daily doesn't feel pleasant in hair and is a pain to use.
the foam topical minoxidil just feels like it gets caught in hair and doesn't even reach the scalp. i'm not sure if you'll be happy with minoxidil.
