Hello all,

I'm a little bit embarassed to post picture of my chest here, but I really need you guys expert opinion about this.

I've been taking proscar for 4 months now (i'm doing the big 3),
I take 1.25 mg a day in the morning.

And I'm really concerning that I'm developping gynecomasia.
I've been hitting the gym regularly in the past.
However i've been slacking a lot for the past month (because of a back injury).

So i've included 2 pictures I did take before starting my proscar treatment,
and 3 pic I took last week, 4 months after starting proscar.

I am not feeling anything special when touching my nipple or breast.
Not that I had puffy nipple since i've been a teenager.
For some reason (I'm really not sure?) I think my nipple and chest (could it be fat?) are getting bigger?

What do you guys think?
Should I stop proscar ASAP?

That looks like a normal chest to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

The type of gyno that people should worry about is the kind where you can feel the development of a "marble" type growth under their nipple. These are troublesome because if they develop and stick around long enough, they can be permanent. Symptoms of this often include itching and/or pain and tenderness.

Feeling like your breasts are "fattier" or whatever does not mean you have gyno. It means that you are worrying that you have gyno. This can easily be combated by losing weight, and is not permanent.

I'm no expert, so I can't really say anything with any authority. It might just be me but does the "after proscar" picture of your nipple look like its bloated as opposed to the pre-proscar?

If it just LOOKs bloated in the picture cause of temperature changes or whatever then don't worry about it.

Basically it looks like it might be a "puffy nipple" but it might just be the camera or temperature affecting it. Only you can really tell.

If it just looks puffy I wouldn't worry about it. If it feels bad or sore or you feel tissue starting to grow underneath then I'd go to the doctor ASAP

It looks to me like you had mild gyno before starting treatment and it has became a little bit worse.

To me.... to ME... and this is just to me...

if you had mild gyno before...

then check your sex hormones. and THEN check food sensitivities. Because like, if you had estrogen dominance many believe (including me) that that causes male pattern baldness and would also give you gyno. Just a thought man, but it might be something worth looking into :)

Looks like gyno to me.

Gyno will be accompanied by a mass behind the nipple that is sore. It starts out small but can get worse.

Essentially propecia can have a feminizing effect on your whole body and really sabotage your male appearance. propecia is quite bad for you, regardless of what anyone tells you.

Do you notice them shrink considerably and look "normal" when you're cold? (like when you get out of the shower)
Why does it matter if they shrink when it's cold? I thought it was normal for nipples to shrink/harden when you're cold?

I don't see a significant difference in those pics, although the different angles do not make it easier to determine whether any change has occurred. It looks to me like your chest is slightly concave and that your nipples were a bit "soft" to begin with, and those two characteristics in and of themselves may give the appearance of subtle gyno. Plus, as noted earlier, variations in temperature and so on could easily account for a bit more puffiness in the nipples.

The fact that you notice no change in the sensitivity of your chest/nipples and that you have been inactive for the past month makes me think all you may be experiencing is a small rise in body fat %. Like others have said though, if you really think you might have gyno you should just consult a doctor.

It's nothing to worry about as long as you don't have any pain around the nipples. Early stages of gynecomastia are reversible by quitting finasteride or using a steroid gel named andractim. If you actually develope gynecomastia and still want to use finasteride, simply reverse it with the gel and add a aromatase inhibitor like arimidex to your regimen.

I did. It's very effective in early stages of gynecomastia. Pain relief within minutes of application, and lumps recede quickly with continuous treatment.

I bought it online from All Saints Clinic at Cyprus. They're legit, and they prescribe the medication after you've answered some questions right. For me it's a great alternative. Andractim isn't available in Norway, and if I could find a doctor who would prescribe it, it would've cost twice as much as importing myself. You've to purchase at least two tubes, which is more than enough for this use. Maybe you could make a deal with someone else who needs this too.
