Hey! I'm new to the forum and am really looking for advice more than anything on what to do with my hair style-wise. I've done quite a bit of research on many of the available treatments out there and will help as many others out on this forum.

In the meantime I'm very unhappy with my current style...I posted some pictures last night and need advice! I just threw the poll in for fun - Id truly appreciate some concrete suggestions!

A bit of nanogen would conceal that thinning, and give the appearance of a normal head of hair. How's your regimen working out?

What is your hair like? NW2-3?

I had a similar hairstyle to yours for a year or so and it was a real pain and it took for ages for me to think it looked ok, and then, I couldn't prevent the wind, rain etc of it blowing all over the place.

What I did in similar circumstances, was to trim the side hair. It doesn't need to be really short but shave it at the sides so it is less density than on top.
Keep the fringe/temple hair on top to about 3inches or so - gives you something to play around with and try a fauxhawk, pushforward or even just letting it sit up top.
Top it off with some concealer to 'sprouse' it up.

I thought once my hair started getting worse that it was taking it down to a 0 time, but with keeping the sides short and some hair up top - you will look good and your hairloss will not be as noticeable.

The hair at sides for me anyways, seems to grow faster and with a NW3 on top - it only grows in certain areas and if you grow that out - it looks a mess and obvious balding especially with wind or a bad combover.
Having short sides and more hair on top gives the impression that you have a lot more hair than you actually do.

Good luck.

P.S. You could also try a mohawk. You have enough coverage for this at the front, but I know it's not everyone's ideal hairdoo and then after you shave the rest of your head -You'll have to wait a few months for it to grow back in.

I agree with the above post..a bit shorter and spikier on top and short on the sides would allow you to hide the thinning much better. Pop in some concealer like Toppik, 20 second hair or nanogen and you'll be golden with that style.

Hopefully you can halt any further loss thru meds and be done with it.

i agree, shorter on the sides. just dont comb the hair on the top to the side. kinda hard to tell though without seeing the rest of your head/face.
