I took one Dutas pill last week monday (first and only) and 24 hours later my left chest was enlarged with what feels like a fatty layer (i'm very thin, so it's fairly obvious to see). The right chest is as normal.

What should I do?

Has anyone else had a similar reaction?

Did the fat ever go away by it's own accord?

take another one, maybe it will even out!

Seriously, nothing is gonna happen with only one pill, must be something going on, either that or it is the placebo effect, since you probably have been reading about what it can do to you. I think its all in your mind.

Yeah, it's not possible for this type of side effect to manifest itself in one day. A fatty chest would be the result of increased estrogen which simply would not be elevated enough in one day to cause this. It's all in your head.

I'm definitely sure it's not. I'm fairly thin, so I can see an increase in the chest - going from pancake flat to a mound is noticeable. Additionally, even my GP (who i went to yesterday) could see a difference between each side (above and over the usual left/right differences).

For those who have had fat being deposited on one side of the chest due to Avodart - did it every subside?

I think it is absolutely possible for estrogen to rise in 24 hours and it makes sense that it would. For it to visibly enlarge tissue in 24 hours though....I am not so sure. It is possible I suppose. Was there any increased pain or sensitivity?
Its quite possible that you just noticed something that was already there when you went looking for it. For peace of mind you could leave it for a couple of weeks and if it was dutasteride induced gyno then at this mega-early stage there is a 99.9% chance it would subside. Otherwise proceed but keep an eye on things.

If I don't, a dozen idiots will quote me and debate my sarcastic remark. I know this from experience

Its people like you who create all kinds of mind bogglingly idiotic hysteria that cause people like me to have to wade through a bunch of bullcrap trying to find real, plausable, and useful information.

Yeah you have tits. Now go away, get bald, and stop muddling the internet with this BS so intelligent people can research credible info without having to stumble throught his crap.

p.s. If you were really that worried about gyno you would have done a little bit of research on it and you would then have realized that you don't know wtf you are talking about. The fact that you won't even do a small amount of research on your supposed sides speakings volumes.

Whilst I'm not expecting empathy - I do expect manners - I was asking a question; no one was forcing you to read the post or indeed answer it. It might seem like hysteria because you don't believe it, that doesn't negate it's existence.

I never claimed that it was gyno- I just stated the facts as I saw them on my own body, and asked whether:

a. anyone else had a similar reaction
b. if so, to try and get more information about the length of the effects.

I'm not trying to enter a flame war; merely to try and get some information about a drug above and over what has been posted on multiple forms.
