There is one positive aspect of balding.

We all feel totally anxious and depressed because we rooted our happiness in life on our physical appearance, right. If you come to the point where you accept that your physical appearance is no longer what you can root your feelings of peace and self worth on, you can start to root your feelings of peace on your true self, and that is not your body or your mind. Your true self is that inside you that can observe your body and your mind (with your mind I mean your thoughts). The positive thing about this is that if you come to the point where you FULLY see and accept that you are not your body and not your mind, nothing can harm you like that again.

PS: I have not personally yet reached the point where I can put what I wrote above into practice, but I have found the true self inside of me, the "observer" - and I am getting there more and more. I am still planning a transplant though, so I am obviously not there fully yet haha ;)

I'd rather not have to go through that realization. Ignorance is bliss.

Totally understand you. But for some maybe its the only exit-door from the pain. But as I wrote... Its no easy road, especially in the beginning. You have to give up what you thought was you.
But its not about fighting and pushing, its about giving up. I am writing this only because maybe I can help someone that is suffering, this is the only thing that has helped me to cope with this nightmare.

"Transcending" in this manner is a cope, in my opinion. You are essentially just creating a mental construct (the "true self" and the value thereof) to reinforce your sense of self-worth in response to negative feedback from the outside world on your appearance.

I see how it can be useful for some people but I'm too far down the rabbit hole to derive any utility from such an approach.

I totally respect your view on this. What do you do to cope with baldness, if I may ask?

Sad to hear you are down. I was so down I constantly thought about suicide. And partly of course I am still very down as i wrote.

Don't have to worry about catching an STI

Don't have to worry about picking up young fertile babes

Don't have to worry about contributing to the gene pool

These are just the mental gymnastics we must perform to try and circumnavigate (in vain) the mindfuck known as male pattern baldness.

Self deceit at its finest. People give this advice, just worded differently, in other cases (or just in general) that completely devastate you. Regardless, the "finding yourself" thing is total crap.

Personally, I know exactly who I am and what I want. No amount of balding is going to change that, but I refuse to live behind a veil of delusions about it, trying to tell myself that I'm okay with it and it isn't having a negative effect on my life that is beyond my control simply because I'm happy with my "inner self" -- I am not okay with it and it is a problem.

My grandmother said this to me:

"Just imagine that you have hair and then it will be OK."

Lol, your dads' mother?
It's becoming clearer that dear Granny is getting senile. ;)

Have you considered wearing a toupee?

I have f*****g redpill family (women side).

They never cope about looks.

They mock our friend for his shortness (he is 5'2-4). They mock another one for his speech defect (burr).

Mother told me that my Norwood is not enough after I buzzed first time.

My grandmother met me after almost 2 years and what did she say first?

"Oh wow how you balding progressed... It went further!" (because her son passed inferior genes to me, tho)

I'm about Norwood 2.5 with diffuse thinning, but no bald spots aside from the temples, so a toupee is not necessary at the moment. Obviously, Norwood 2 is nowhere near as bad as any of the higher levels, but it still pisses me off to no end.

If I can hang on to what I've got with finasteride and minoxidil (which seem to be working), and Brotzu, Histogen and/or Shiseido come to pass, I'd be cured; however, I will forever remain an advocate for the psychological and social damage balding does to people.

brilliant. next time I am at the restaraunt having a meal with friends I will tell all the girls there "hey, can you just imagine I have hair"

I'm gonna use that at the bar where all the sexy girls are chasing rich bankers. 'Hey, imagine me with a complete hairline. Can I now buy you a drink?'

Sure you can imagine having hair when you don't, and it'll help you imagine stabbing yourself in the eye 24/7 as well.
